I was part of the chin crowd too. When I was 6, I was taking swimming lessons, and they often let us jump off the diving board at the end. Well, I wasn't all that confident yet, so I decided to just jump off at the side of the pool. Well, I must've turned when I jumped, because I landed chin first on top of the plastic gutter thingy at the ledge of the pool. They took me to the first aid center and put a butterfly bandaid over it and kept calling me brave because I didn't cry. Then my grandpa took me in to get 6 stitches.

I have had it all, stiches, staples and believe it or not they now use glue.  My last surgery was glued shut.

Sorry the boy had a crash. Is he upset about the pending scar, or does he think it will be cool?

I got three stitices on the 3rd birthday from falling on a barbed wire fence.

That was it until my two surgeries two years ago, which resulted in about 30 staples in my belly.

 age 3 -  7 in back of head when trycycle got hung up on aluminum ladder ( 'splains alot lol )

 age 5 -  5 in chin when I rolled out of a bunkbed and hit dresser ( 'spains the rest lol )

 age 12 -  3 in knee from bike wreck ( showing off for the girls )

 age 23 - 5 across finger from broken bottle ( worked for pepsi )

 age 32 -  5 across different finger from roof  flashing

 age 32- 'bout a hundred on my gums from dental surgery .

 age 37-  7 on jaw from dental stuff

 age 45 - 5 in side of cheek , from a hammer , 3 on the outside , 2 on the inside .

I've had 2 cases where I should have gotten stiches but didn't want to bother with the hassle of the hospital. got a nice little scar above my left eye and one above my lip. but I am fortunate, you wouldn't really see them if you weren't looking for them.

I had to have stiches once,I was about 14 or 15 and our staffordshire bull terrior decided to attached himself to my face, I think I needed about 7 stiches or something like that, they were the disloving type.

It was on my chin too, underneath and at the front, still have the scars now, they are not massive but will have them for life.

Well I guess Emily was jealous and she wanted- and got- six of her own stitches. We had the 10 am waterpark birthday party to go to. We got there on time and about an hour or less into the party she fell on top of the baby water slide and clipped the corner of her eye I was at the bottom waiting for her, so the lifeguard had to pick her up. He was shaking by the time I got up there. But she was bleeding pretty badly. So I left the boy and headed to a Doctor's Care right down the street. It took four of us to hold her and she was not very quiet. She kept moving so he had to keep restitching But she was fine once he stopped and was not mean or unruly. She goes back Thursday and no swimming until at least next week- so I guess boat tomorrow and pool with the school on Monday is out too. Anyway- keep her in your t & p's- it is pretty nasty Also can't wait til my insurance sees this- they still have not paid the boy's claim because they are trying to see if his accident was someone else's fault/ liability! I don't beat my kids!

I know she will be fine- I just hope it heals nicely or she will be self conscious. Hope things do not happen in three- I do NOT want stitches

They do glue you back together these days. I am not sure if I had stitches or if I had glue after surgery for my knee. It was almost seven years ago.
