i hate when someone hangs on to a check for a long time. it makes me wonder if they've lost it or what? my SHE BOSS once bought a dog around Christmas time at a pet shop and they didn't deposit her check for months! she kept calling and they'd say, they just hadn't made it to the bank ---

Must be nice to have that kind of money that you don't have to worry about depositing a check for a couple months!

My landlady quit her job in March and she told me when it happened (she left in kind of a huff after arguing with her boss) that she wasn't even going to look for work until after Christmas! She said she has enough saved that she can go a couple years without working if she wants to.

Plus, she owns this house, her moms house, and a house up north (that one she co-owns with her brother though).

All I can say is MUST BE NICE!

it didn't bounce did it?

That happened to me last month, I called in a payment and it never posted. I called them again 10 days later and the B*&^% said it didn't clear it was NSF. I thought maybe I had screwed up in my check book or something after and hour of double checking my numbers and everything I called the bank. The bank started checking into it for me and found that the Company had keyed my account in wrong and it was their error. My account had enough money for it to clear 3 times for that whole 10 day period. I got to call back and be a B to her. She treated me like I was a loser at first and then she was kissing my butt the second time I called.

No Ally, there's plenty in their to cover it. It's actual a check out of an investment account, so I have it on my monitor every day and I keep watching for the cash portion to drop so I know it was cashed, but it still hasn't.

I'm hoping she decided I'm such a good tenant she just can't in good consience charge me rent anymore

I had a customer bounce a check on me and she got mad at ME about it.

I did hold on to it for about 10 days or so before I deposited it. She doesn't track her checkbook, just looks at the balance and had assumed I had already cashed it.

In my case, all my business expenses go on one business credit card and I just make one big payment at the end of every month. So really, I don't need the money . . . until the credit card is due.
