Do you go anywhere for lunch? Do you have a place at your job to eat?


 


We of course have a cafeteria here, but I never go. I bring my lunch everyday and eat right at my desk. But I also work from 8:30 or 9 to 5, so I just work a straight eight. Most people I work with go home or leave for lunch. I have two friends that I go to lunch with about once a month so we leave and hit the fast food places around here. We are covered with them being at a college- all the fast food restaurants vie for their $! One of my faves is Jason's Deli!

most days lunch is here. If the office people want they can go and pick up lunch and return. Other than lunch meetings- you don't eat out. And it is against the rules to buy food for the staff. Unless they have changed that. But I know the crews can't stop to pick up food for staff.

I usually go sit in this empty parking lot behind a grocery store, it's right along the creek so I listen to it babble while I eat.

I WANNA be in South Dakota sitting behind a grocery store listening to a creek babble while I eat my lunch

When you mentioned Black Hawk and Piedmont in your playground thread it made me so sad! I remember being in both those cities and they were GREAT! The whole corner of the state is AWESOME!

Do you guys have ANY IDEA how lucky you are?!?!?!?!?!?

You're right Ruby, it would be very hard for me to leave my mother here alone. If Erica winds up staying put I might make the move to southwestern SD, but if she moves to a warmer state like she says she wants to, I couldn't leave my Mom completely alone. It just seems wrong

If it was South EASTERN SD I could probably do it, because I could drive back once or twice a month. But I know I'd wind up only coming home once or twice a year if I were on the far side of south dakota.

ERICA? ARE YOU LISTENING? MEET A GUY AND PUT DOWN SOME ROOTS RIGHT HERE IN WISCONSIN WOULD YOU PLEASE?!?!?!?!

if she has all those bro's and sis's she doesn't need you all the time. You can call her daily and see her once a month or so. She is a big girl, do what makes you happy.

I know. You're right. I don't see her much now really. Maybe once a week. But she doesn't drive and Erica takes her EVERYWHERE right now. If Erica moves away a lot more responsibility will fall on me.

But believe me, I haven't given up on the South Dakota plan. I really hope to take a trip out there this fall or next spring, and apartments and homes WILL be on the "to look at" list. I would not be surprised at all if in two years I've relocated.

Because let's face it, there's no jobs out there! The entire plan of moving to SD has always been contingent on my getting an internet business going again. Which I WILL! But it's going to take a year or two.

You guys should feel honored to know a PROFESSIONAL DRIVER! I mean really, what seperates me from say, Al Unser or Jeff Gordon? Other than about 120 mph, we're all in the same line of work!

I go home for lunch almost every day. I used to go do a bit of shopping when needed on lunch and grab some fast food, but now I usually stop by the grocery store and pick up something to eat at work when I do that.
