Clapton's Red Square Concert Canceled

MOSCOW - Eric Clapton's scheduled concert on Red Square next week has been canceled after Russian authorities abruptly withdrew their permission, the guitarist's publicist said.


A Russian promoter had received an official permit for Clapton to perform on Red Square on Thursday, but officials withdrew that Friday, Clapton's publicist, Kristen Foster, said in a statement.


"Eric Clapton is extremely sorry to disappoint his numerous Russian fans but the circumstances of the cancellation are completely beyond his control," she said.


Russian President Vladimir Putin's press service relayed a request for information to the Kremlin administrative department, which could not be reached for comment.


Yevgeny Safronov, the director of the InterMedia company that organized the concert, said the show appeared to be in jeopardy.


Moscow box offices on Saturday suspended the sales of tickets, which cost as much as $370.

Me too! TBS is one of the stations that broadcast in High Definition. I'll tell ya, if I could get someone to run a fan and sprinkle some bits of rubber into the stream it would feel like I was there :)

It looks like this is kind of anti-climatic though huh? They said the leader can't fall out of the lead no matter what he does tonight!

 I just want to see a good race . tired of all the caution fests lately. 


 as for points -we'll see at the end of the year.  look at whats happened to Tony Stewart and Dale Jr. in the cup series , a month ago they looked like shoe ins.
