You know, I'm just startng to really get into this cable again now. It seems like they changed a bunch since I had it disconnected only two months ago.

I AM SHOCKED at the ON-DEMAND stations now! EVERYONE has On-Demand stations. TNT, TBS, HBO, SHOWTIME, FOOD NETWORK, LIFETIME, BIOGRAPHY, COURT TV, etc.

There must be 80 on-demand stations where you can watch their programs on YOUR schedule with no commercials! HOW COOL IS THAT!

Do you guys get that stuff in SD? What cable company do you have?

for cable internet and phone its $140ish not bad considering we have every pay channel I can think of, other than the nuaghty ones.

My Grandma used to watch Hee-Haw when I was a kid, I think my Dad did too. I remember it was on a lot and I didn't like it!

We watched HeeHaw a lot . . . only because we only got 3 channels and sadly that was the best option of the 3 in that time slot.

yea I seem to recall maybe 5 station options, tops, and that was the best thing on...can you believe it?? LOL plus if you didn't like it, you had to get up and change the channel.......

That was part of it too, no one wanted to get up to go change the channel.

We got ABC, CBS and PBS . . . and those were all snowy.

JD, I remember until I was about 16 my Dad actually laid on the floor, within arms reach of the TV, with his ashtray on the floor in front of him, so he could channel surf.

It was the type of TV with the big knob dial, and we only got 5 stations. ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS and WCGV.

My Mom worked until 2 AM, and ALL the stations went off the air around 1 or 2 AM. They'd play the anthem and then go to snow until 6 AM. So my Mom would come home and there was NO TV to watch!

How wierd that would feel now!

When cable arrived we had about 30 stations, and the remote was a big box with a 20 foot cord that ran from the box to the TV, and you had this goofy slider that would take you from one station to the next.

Unbeleivable how much things have changed in only 20 years.
