Requests = change of heart?

? for loyal listeners...has listening to FFR broadened your mind/opened your heart to new music that you may have written off 20-30 years ago? Listening to some songs that may not be your choice- do you find them growing on you? Just curious.

It sure has for me Cheeselvr.

I think we lost a lot of listeners when we switched from our 80's / Adult Contemporary format to the current Anything Goes style. But the listeners we DO have are hard-core music fans now!

I can't tell you how many songs I've first learned of on our station because other people have asked that they be added. Songs that I probably wouldn't have given a chance normally because I had a preconceived bias against an artist for one reason or another.

The new format has made me more of a complete music lover I'd say. I always liked A LOT of different stuff, but now there's almost nothing I won't atleast give a chance! (Except for (c)rap music, I'll never like (c)rap music)

absolutely! I bet every 2 weeks I hear either something new that I like, or an oldie from the past comes back and blows me away. This last week it was Slit Skirts by Pete Townsend. Totally forgot about that song, how great it is, and now I request it faithfully.

   I'd say yes ,  there a some songs that I never heard before and really like . As for the  "broadening " I'd say yes also , I always have hated country and with all the country I'm hearing on here anymore I'm hating it even more. Starting to  feel like I'm on a flight from Witchita to Nashville.  Maybe this plane will hit some turbulance and bounce George , Garth and the Dixie trio out the cargo door.

  Heck with it , easier to put on a chute and jump.  mite as well jump,,,,,,,go ahead and jump!!

glad to know. that's the absolute beauty of FFR- while you wait to hear your requests you pretty much are exposed to all kinds of music- its ingenious. Go FFR!

Oh yeah, there are tons of songs that I would've never listened to before if they weren't played on FFR.

I think there for a while I just couldn't bring myself to listen to anything new. I think I have to associate a song to something going on in my life to really like it. Now I associate new songs to FFR and all of you and its great.
