Happy Saturday, all!  I know, I disappeared for a bit again.  I went to Chicago last weekend, so I was gone Friday thru Monday. Spent the week before getting ready to go. Spent most of this week getting caught up from being gone.  Today is starting out cloudy and muggy, in the high 70's already, headed for the low 90's.

I am good. I just really need to get ready for work, but someone is in my bathroom... not mentioning any names. I didn't sleep very well last night, not sure why but my mind was going and going.

Mornin' all!

I hope everyones having a great saturday!

Dave, sorry to hear the heat is still on down there. We're finally having a nice stretch of cooler temps in our neck of the woods.

I couldn't sleep well last night, so I was up at SIX AM! That NEVER happens for me! I went and watched the sunrise, stopped at the slots for an hour (ok, I know, I got a problem) and walked 2 miles through my Dad's cemetary (kind of like hangin' with the old guy for 20 or 30 minutes).

Now i'm gonna wash up a bit and head back out to do some shopping.

Catch most of ya lata!

Not yet Rubicon, but I know one is in my near future Maybe around 2ish. I didn't get to bed til 12:30, and I doubt I had even 3 hour sleep before I got up at 6. Right now I'm running on adrenaline. So I want to get my stuff done, come home and exercise, and then if I crash so be it. It'll be a movie night on the couch

Mayfield was right about 1 thing , Ray Everham is a piss poor owner ( my opinion ) .

Putting Elliot in cause they didn't have enuff owner points for a lock was a joke .

( Read the rules boys ! He had to make it in on TIME. ) That showed me Everham didn't have any confidence in his team. Key- riste , the man has won races and been in the chase the last 2 years , If I was Jeramy I would be glad to be gone from that loser team.

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see him hook up with Yates ( zero drivers )or Childress ( axe Bowyer)

I agree, I was shocked by the news, but Everham thought the car should at least be able to stay in the top 25 race to race. He was not able to communicate what the car needed to get it right. Maybe needed a new crew chief?

it's hard to run in the top 25 when you consistently start in the back .

the qualifing setup has nothing to do with the driver , that falls right on the crew chiefs lap.

If you bring junk to start with " communicate" all you want , it's still junk and Ray Everham of all people should know this . I think thats what Jeremy was trying to say last week , Ray needed to BE THERE to see what was going on.

after the race starts thats when the driver takes over , you can make changes to improve the car but everyone else is making changes too so your not gaining any ground only staying even . you need 2 pit stops to the other guys 1 stop to gain ground and that don't happen often.

PS- I'm not a Mayfield fan , just calling it like I see it.

I'll have to get the pics downloaded from my camera. I got a few good shots of the tall ships. I need to find the software for my camera and the cable.. the 'puter at home crashed so I'll have to bring that stuff up to the shop to get it sorted out.  I didn't think about it this morning... was out at happy hour last night with some of my gang. That got crazy pretty quick, so I ended up being the designated driver.  It was fun, but I'm kinda tired!!

It seems weird, but I love walking through cemetaries. Especially old ones. When I went to my grandma's one summer, I would get a bouquet of flowers and put one each on the graves in the baby section of this huge old cemetary. It was just so peaceful and made me feel like a part of the world.

At any rate, I got up at about 10:30 which was actually a bit later than I expected to sleep. Then went to Farmer's Market, got some onions and green peppers and peaches, etc., grabbed a fresh juice and walked around looking at all the flowers and listening to the music. There was a great group of women accappella singers there today. Then I went to Lowe's to get some stuff for my plants. As I was leaving, I saw the bags of playground sand and remembered I needed some for one of my pots, so I hefted one of those 50 pound bags into the store and into a cart and made the cart tip over! Then I had to go get the 40 pound box of kitty litter, so when I got home, I was done carrying heavy stuff! Then I took care of my plants, watched some home improvement shows on PBS, did some chores, and now I'm here.

MC- you sound like me on a Saturday- a weekend warrior.  I love Famers Markets and gardening. I'm usually so exhausted after the weekend from all that I can barely move on Monday morning- good thing, I guess.

I always thought walking in a cemetary was kind of wierd too Mz. But since my Dad died I love to do it. I start at his Crypt and do a couple laps around and end back at his crypt. Along the way I see my grandfather, and my great grandfather, and a couple people that just peaked my curiosity of the last few months.

It's really the one place I feel a closeness to him still. Not so much because he's there, but there's just an overall sense of something, I don't know what the word is I'm looking for, just a connected-ness to the other side I guess.

I actually envision my father walking with me, sometimes my grandfather too, and in my head I converse with them.

No, I'm not insane. But perhaps I've started on the road to it

I'm not that fond of cemetaries, although I'm not afraid of them like my husband. I don't really feel comfortable when there, to tell you the truth. I'm usually very sad when I visit. I wish that wasn't the case, but it is.

Thank you Ally.

I can not tell you how much I miss him. Much more than I was prepared for. I took the week off that he passed in December this year, because I know it's going to be a very emotional week, thinking about his final days.

Walking in the cemetary is always emotional, but it feels good to go through those emotions.

I mentioned on the air a few months ago that this spring I was walking through the cemetary, thinking about him, and a song came on the ipod from the Escape Club called "I'll be there". I had liked the song for years and years, but never really listened. I thought it was about a guy telling his girl he'd be there for her.

When it came on in the cemetary and I really listened to it, it turned out it's someone who's passed on telling their loved ones that they never left, they'll always be there.

I felt like an idiot because i was about a half mile from my car and couldn't stop the tears from running down my face the whole way back. But man that song made me happy while still making me sad, and now it's one of my favorites.

I love that song, too. I'm sorry you lost your Dad in December.  That's a hard month.

I really couldn't imagine how it must have felt.....songs sometimes don't really do much for a person until they really listen to the words. Never feel bad about showing your emotions....it takes a lot bigger person to show them. I hope you always have that feeling that he is with you everytime you visit the cemetary...every time you visit you feel that presence.
