Dell Battery Recall

I got lucky.....according to Dell (so far at least). My battery supposedly isn't one that starts things on fire.


If I'm not here tomorrow tho, its because my computer caught fire and burned everything down while I slept.

do you keep it plugged in or run on the battery?

From what I understand it doesn't matter. I read that some that caught fire were not turned on OR even plugged in.

yea I did the reading today too- didn't matter. but dell says I am safe, so I believe them!

it said on the dell site it was safe to use them plugged in....

I read I think there were 5 cases of things catching fire due to this? I wonder how that compares to other stats involving dangerous computer malfunctions. how many screens suddenly and unexplicably blow up in user's faces???? etc??

I know, it's such a shame they gotta do millions of recalls and most are probably just fine.

You know, every time I hear about recalls, I think about what they explain in Fight Club about all the things that AREN'T recalled...
