mixing board

hey riggs, I know mixing board would allow us to take skype calls live, but what else? could we record directly from it, would we use it for fading in and out?

We COULD use it for fading in and out, but we won't. It's easier to let the software do that.

Basically it would do the following...

Allow us to take calls on air (hopefully)

Allow us to have up to 8 mics in the studio if we had guests.

Allow us to hook up pretty much any auxilary input equipment we wanted (ie turntable, cassette deck, etc.)

We'd use the fader buttons if we were using the auxilary inputs or if we wanted to turn someones mic up or down.

It wouldn't really affect how we record the shows.

That's the one I'm planning on ordering.

They got a nice studio quality turntable for about $80.00 too. But I'm not sure if I'll get that or not.

dude, like every police album, every u2 album, (und 80s) coltranes a love supreme MUST be heard on disc. I gots discs! point me to the one you are looking at once the board is set up, and I will get the record player. even if we were to NEVER use it, we're a studio and we need one in there. that will be from me. heck accident money or not, I got $80 for that!

Alrighty then! COOLIO! Once we got the mixer in and know everything works I'll give you the linkage to the turntable.

Heck, I could hit the Goodwills too, they got records by the boxful for 25 cents a piece!
