I was just sitting here thinking that a dj job wouldn't be any fun if we couldn't take your requests, or play the music that we love for you. To be a voice behind the music that corporations like Clear-Channel beat collectively try to beat into our brains would absolutely suck!

I'd be torn- I know local djs don't make a lot of money, I just assume be able to call the shots and do this for free!

When money comes in to the picture, you will eventually sell-out. Maybe it doesn't happen to everybody/everything but, very often when something gets signed, discovered whatever you'd like to call it... someone will want to market it. Then, it's no longer yours.

Great point Bman! I was reading some stuff on underground artists and how they are the only ones who are truly happy artists- might have to work harder, but it is all YOU!

The downside of being yourself is no $$, often depressed, scrounging around and occassionally disconnected from everybody elses reality. (a source of creativity)


Hopefully JD won't die from an STD or loss of ear piece/chunk.
