? for the DJs

Did you guys ever remove a song from your play list? At one point I remember requesting the song "Lets Rock-n-Roll" by C&C Music Factory. Then one day it was gone. What happened? Did I request it too much or did it harbor intense painful memories for either JD or Rigga?

I think I remember removing that one but I don't remember why.

There's only a few reasons we'll remove a song.

1) It's got RAP in it.

2) It has swearing in it.

3) It's just too long and repetitive (those cost us listeners halfway through the song).

If it's 1 it ain't ever coming back. If it's 2 I usually try to edit out the swearig if possible and put it back. If it's 3 I usually try to edit it down to a 3 or 4 minute version and put it back.

I'm not sure, because it's been awhile since I yanked it, but I think that song was either a 1 or a 3, maybe both!

At least I know it was yanked and that I'm not crazy. It must be too rappy for you guys because I'm pretty sure it's not too repetetive and I know there's no swearing in it.  Oh well! There's only 30,000 others to love!

Yeah CHEESE, I actually have an allergic reaction to rap. It makes me start swearing and hitting things. It's not pretty

Really, Riggzta? I can't beleive there is no rap you like. I like the early rap until it got vulgar. The early stuff is tolerable for me. You really don't like any of it? I don't listen to it anymore but if I hear it I don't mind. I used to like LL Cool J a lot.

If I'm really drunk I might admit to likin' Young MC's "Bust A Move" or LL Cool J's "Goin' Back To Cali" or "Mama Said Knock You Out".

But I have to be really drunk!

I also like some of Eminems stuff, mostly the stuff mixed with music.

I thought Stan was GREAT, and I also like The Real Slim Shady, and the followup to that too.

We sound so white on here. ha. I liked Public Enemy but then I saw that dude on that reality show and thought omg what a freak. Flava-flav. Freak.

Rigga- there are lots of things people admit to liking when they are drunk. Rap isn't usually one of them. I guess its better than admitting you enjoy grown Hungarian men naked or playing with cold-blooded animals in the shower or something.

I saw the RUN DMC in '85 when rap was becoming rap.....and they hit the stage with "King Of Rock" and to this day, that right there is in my top 25 best live concert moments ever......they just owned that crowd from the word go......

I bet that was great. What did you think when one of the 3 was murdered not too long ago? Crazy. RUN DMC had great thick rope chains.

I just remembered that show, and how long it had been since they were on top and wanted to know what their lives had become where something like that could happen...
