and it was me! So I am in line- A LONG LONG LINE, cause everyone is buying supplies- I just needed to get a prescription filled and some stuff for dinner. Anyway it is my turn, I unloaded everything and then it hit me- my wallet with my atm card and license in it, was next to my computer, where E took it out last night! So I had to reload everything and leave the store- my cell phone gets no reception and call the boy to ride his bike to bring me my wallet

Ever had that happen?

I have forgotten and left my atm card in machines twice in the past year, and it doesn't occur to me until I am in line to purchase something...I really like the ones where you just insert and remove the card quickly- it seems a lot of the machines around here are switching over to that finally.

the first one was not my bank one, so I got worried that maybe someone grabbed the card and I cancelled the card as soon as I found out. went through the whole hassle of getting a new card.....


the last time I lost it at my bank's atm, when I remembered a day later I went with my id and got it back. lol I told the lady I'd see her next month when I inevitably forget it again...

So you never heard back from the first one? That is kinda scary, unless of course they could call and see it was cancelled. If you leave it in there and drive off, does it eventually come out or does it make the machine unusable I wonder? Oh yeah scary, I have not used a machine like that in a while.

I think it stays put for a minute and then gets sucked back into the machine, and then you have to call the bank that owns the machine, prove that you are you, and then wait 4-6 weeks to get the card back......


in fact, the machine that did that is now a machine for my bank, right by my house, so that made things just that much easier for me now- way close, doesn't eat the card and NO bank fees!

I haven't ever done that, but I did go the gas station right after work one day pumped gas then realized my wallet was in my desk drawer. I went in and explained what I had done and told the girl to keep my cell phone as collateral until I came back. No problem, she probably would have just let me go get it. I love small town life.

at the local greasy spoon this lady forgot her money and explained to the waitress. she was willing to leave collateral too, but the waitress told her just to go get the money its ok. I actually had myself another cup of coffee and read some more newspaper because I wanted to see if she did come back. she did.
