Sorry to hear you're still not feeling well Ruby. You N' Woo gotta heal up!

It's sunny and cool in the land of cheese today. Not sure what I'll be doing today but I fear it may revolve around homeowner duties, which sucks since I don't own the home!

But the landlady is out of town and I have no hot water. I went downstairs and the hot water heater is leaking all over the place These are times I'm glad I don't own the house and it's gonna be someone elses problem!

I'm trying. But so far no luck. Her cell phone was some scary old lady that didn't say anything after "hello". Her brothers number up north (which is where she is) was an answering machine.

I turned the water supply off so it stopped leaking, but I'm not sure if I need to do anything else. I thought it was an electric heater but there's a pilot light switch, so I'm wondering if I need to get that turned off and cut the supply of gas to it as well.

It should be dry, it was leaking pretty good from the base, and now with the supply cut off it's not going to hold water for long.

I googled it and you need to shut off the gas to it too.

Sorry guys, I was just downstairs turning off the gas supply. At least I hope I did, everything is pretty old down there and not marked at all. It was the pipe leading to the box that controls the pilot light though, so I think i got it.

If you hear a loud explosion from the direction of Wisconsin you know I didn't.

Well, I'm not joking I can't be 100% sure it was the right pipe, there is one other one leading to it, but I THINK that's the outbound water pipe because it's the newer copper one and for some reason I think I recall that one being hot in the past.
