Netflik vs Blockbuster

I think MZ is doing this. We have been on a free trial with Blockbuster this month for their DVD by mail program. I loved it at first- quick turnaround and great communication. That was the first three movies, then the emails stopped and the dvds have not been shipped timely and I got the same movie twice! Is Netflix better?

I am a member of www.peerflix.com  it's movies that you own, and don't mind parting with, you list them and you also list what you want, and everyone just sends them to each other. You can keep them as long as you want etc.....  I love it.

I've never tried Blockbuster, but I haven't had any problems with Netflix. It usually takes 2 days to get my next disc (one to get the old one to Netflix, one to get the new disc to me). There's been a couple times that we got a damaged disc (I'm convinced both times have been the mailman's fault), and they sent me a new disc the same day. One time, a disc got lost in the mail when I mailed it back to them, and they just sent my next one out, no questions asked.

I might try them then. Like I said the first week was great, but not now. We went a whole week without any movies and we should have at least one of three. Thanks MZ

You are all better than me.  I am too lazy to do that.  I send my wife to the store and buy it.

I agree. We loved Netflix and they had great prices and more movies to choose from.  We left not due to anything wrong with Netflix but had to cut costs.

Sorry to revive such an old posting, but I really wanted to put my two cents in on this one.  We used Netflix for a year or so.  Service, quality, and everything was good.  I switched to Blockbuster to save an extra buck or two.  What I like most about Blockbuster is the two free e-coupons that I get each month for a free movie rental at the store.  That way if the kids want to have friends over, we can still go to the store and get a movie that they wanted to see.

I was going to cancel a couple of months ago because I was trying to cut expenses and wasn't watching enough movies each month to justify the bill.  When canceling, they offered a deal I think for $8 month where I get 4 movies per month (one at a time, not three), but I still get 2 e-coupons monthly.  That's 6 movies a month for $8.  That's a deal!!

I must admit, I have more broken and damaged movies in the mail than w/ Netflix, but all things considered I still prefer Blockbuster.  Oh yeah, one more thing, if you want instant credit when you return a movie, rather than mailing it back and having a day or two delay, you can take it to your local Blockbuster and turn it in there, then they said they'll go ahead and immediately release the next movie in your queue.  I haven't done that because I going to the store but I'm sure that would be another bonus for some.
