I was at Sam's Club and bought my first Christmas gift of the season. The clock is NOW ticking people!

I want to be finished BEFORE Thanksgiving!

I USED to be finished by October 31'st

I've been a major slacker this year

I just can't stand the post-Thanksgiving crowds. I won't set foot in a store for the entire month and a half that ends the year.

Gift cards are my last ditch thing. When I'm nearly done and I haven't found something for somebody, then they get a gift card.

I have a hard time giving gift cards though. They make me feel lazy and like I don't care enough to shop.

I know that's stupid, because I like GETTING gift cards, and getting to pick what I want, but on the giving side I feel like I'm just saying "Here, I just don't care enough to actually think about what you might like and then go through the trouble of getting it for you".

Having said that, if ANYONE WANTS TO GIVE ME GIFT CARDS FOR CHRISTMAS I WON'T BE HURT, I PROMISE

yea I admit I am too lazy and hate shopping. take the damned gift card and go get yourself somethin you want!


cept for grandma. I can always find her something she'll like. too often I've given gifts where they become dust catchers. Or have gotten gifts where its like "stop trying to decorate my home for me".

Ugh. Home decoration gifts are the WORST!

You gotta remember to dig them out of your closet and put them on display when the giver is comin gover or else you're going to get that "Hey, where did you ever put that 3 foot Hawaiin Elvis hat rack that I gave you for Christmas last year?"

I love wrapping! Send all your stuff to me, I'll wrap it (I just didn't say anything about sending it back).

I'm with you on the gift cards JR. I'll do gift cards for birthdays or if I'm sending a gift. But if everyone else is sitting around unwrapping gifts, and one person gets a gift card, then everyone else is trying on their new clothes and playing with their new "toys" and the person who got the gift card is just sitting there watching everyone else. And if I don't know what to get someone, I usually go for one of those little electronic games. I figure everyone gets bored enough to play one of those sometime.

all my husbands grandkids are at the age where they are hard to figure out.  therefore, this year it will be gift cards or movie bucks.


i hate wrapping too.  i used to pay my daughter to wrap for me, but she is gone.  and my son, well -- you boys summed it up -- it's a girl thing....
