I HAD a cheeseburger for breakfast at the 24 hour McDonalds between Milwaukee and Chicago this moring at about 3:30 AM.

Wow, what a rip-off. They charge a premium cus they're there 24 hours and know they're the only thing open right on the expressway like that. A burger that would have cost me .99 normally was $2!!!!

Apparantly so!

I didnt' even think of it until I was back on the road. I got a plain cheeseburger, and a large Coke.

Five miles later it hit me... "WHAT THE HELL, DID I PAY $4.73 for THIS?!?!?!"

yep prices vary from McDonald's to McDonald's. I noticed that when Hubby got mad in the drive thru and took off and went to another one closer to home.

Isn't that pretty much the EXACT definition of price gouging?

It's the SAME corporation, a HUGE corporation, charging a different price based on how bad they think you want it!!!

You know, I guess I'd be more understanding if it were a little different, but nearly $5 for a coke and a cheesburger? I'm thinking prices are at least double what they are at the other McD's around town.
