I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but it has totally solved the skipping issue on my end.

It only works if you use a player OTHER than Live365 though.

I use MusicMatch and it occured to me they must allow you to set your cache size.

Sure enough, there is a setting for that to eliminate the buffering problem. By default it was set for 250 mb or kb (don't recall which). I upped it to the max of 2000 and haven't had a skip since!

Okay I found my option and edited it- hope it works! I only have this problem at home! Where I too use musicmatch. What made you think of that?

Were you having the same problem I was? For me I'd have no skips for 15 minutes or so then CONSTANT skipping.

I'm getting about the same skips that I have been all along on the VIP player. I've changed the buffer settings in it with no change.

Just to try, I switched back to Winamp and set the buffer at 10 seconds. It has a tool where in the options you can watch the buffer. Over the first few minutes, I watched as the playing position gradually caught up with the buffer then it started skipping too. It took a few minutes for that to happen but once it started, it was much worse than the VIP player.

This is perplexing. I don't recall ever having this problem before.

What Web described seeing is EXACTLY what I figured was happening though

There is one setting on the system that I can change that might affect it. I'll try changing it later today when the audience is smaller because I think it will cause a drop.
