tonight my buddy Mot pulled me out of the house, he had free tickets to go see this concert movie by this band called My Morning Jacket. I was (rightfully told) to sit down shut up, drink this beer and just listen and watch.


I was knocked out by how brilliant these guys were. Has anyone else heard of them? Out of the mud of Kentucky here comes this brilliant, brilliant band!


To top things off, at the end of the movie, folks were told to check beneath their chairs, because there were five pairs of tickets to the upcoming live show by them in a couple of weeks. Sure enough a pair was under Mots chair. We are sooo going!


Anyone know of this band? I did not before tonight. Amazing. they are friggin amazing!!

Wow. High praise indeed considering how many bands you see every year!

Can you compare them to anybody to give me an idea what they sound like?

riggs it was other worldly- each song was sooo unique it was its own entity, but influenced by sooo much-


it was like Grateful Dead meet Metallica meet Neil Young and Crazy Horse meet Alice in Chains meet Black Crowes meet Country Joe and the Fish meet Canned Heat meet little richard. lol they look like swamp rats. its like classical music meeting grunge at the 1/2 way mark. phenomenal. and it works!!! it soo works.

They are coming here this Thursday. I thought Will Hoge was- but that is next month- I already bought the tickets to Hoge.
But I can't do a Thursday night I promised osmeone I would work late for them.

I've never heard of them, I like the group The Red Jumpsuit, they are good.  Why don't you add a few of My Morning Jacket's songs here so we can hear them?
