.AN INTENSIFYING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO TRACK ACROSS

THE EASTERN GREAT LAKES REGION ON FRIDAY. THIS SYSTEM HAS THE
POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE SIX OR MORE INCHES OF SNOW ACROSS THE REGION.
THERE REMAINS SOME UNCERTAINTY AS TO THE EXACT TRACK OF THE
SURFACE LOW. THE LOCATION OF THE HEAVIEST SNOW AS WELL AS
PRECIPITATION TYPE WILL RELY HEAVILY ON THE TRACK OF THE STORM
SYSTEM. IF THE STORM TRACKS A LITTLE FARTHER WEST...THERE IS A
POTENTIAL FOR RAIN AND SLEET TO CUT DOWN ON SNOWFALL
ACCUMULATIONS.

WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH

FRIDAY EVENING.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DETROIT/PONTIAC HAS ISSUED A
WINTER STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING
THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING.

SNOW WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE REGION FRIDAY MORNING AND CONTINUE
INTO THE EVENING. THE SNOW MAY MIX AT TIMES WITH SLEET. STORM
TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 5 TO 8 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE BY
FRIDAY EVENING. GUSTY NORTHEASTERLY WINDS MAY ALSO LEAD TO
SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF SNOW.

A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT
SNOW...SLEET...OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL.
CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS.

I am so happy I moved 200 more miles south. I feel sorry for you Woo. It sounds like we're getting wind rain and snow on Friday, but they haven't mentioned inches.

Depends on where I read about it. I've read from 5 to 8 inches.

Hey Woo, it dosnt sound too good over their. good time to stay in and watch NATIONAL LAMPOONS CHRISTMAS VACATION! Chevy Chase rules. also ive got our works Christmas night out on thursday in LIVERPOOL city center and the weather dosnt seem much better here! but i take one look at your wanna ride photo and it seems like summer again!ha ha

I just have the idea of snow from a child's perspective still in my head- I played in it, I skated, sledded, snowball fought in it, missed school because of it and for 1 year I drove in it. I did not have to shovel- had an older brother, so like I said- all good memories.

I probably would not be either if I had not moved. I am sure I would hate Chicago winters as much as you hate yours!

well here is a pick of my area. The top shaded county is where i live the bottom shaded is where I work. I've looked up weather for both areas and there is no alert for where I work. This means if the storm hits me at home as bad as the are talking then I am screwed. My work will not close and they will expect me to travel in. We have a shop less than a mile from me so they might close that or do a 2hour delay, but I don't work there.
