Okay JD had me thinking- I know we asked this awhile ago, but lots if newbies- anyone smoke?

I used to smoke, cigarettes- from the time I was 12 until I was pregnant with E- with a break while I was pregnant with the boy. I swore I would not start back after she was born and so far so good. BUT I miss it!

I am an ex-smoker. I smoked since I was 13. I smoked less and less around my hubby when we first started going out that I eventually just quit. But sometimes he was the one causing me to smoke!! But I still crave it when I drink. I think last years Christmas party I bummed a few ciggs. He doesn't care as long as I don't pick it up again.

i picked up smokes too at about the same age.  i wasn't REALLY a smoker, usually smoked op's.  mostly i smoked on and off.  from about 1993 to 1995 i was smoking everyday.  then my ma had a heart attack and i just stopped.  she was a non-smoker, but i decided why up the anty for me to have one earlier than necessary.  i think sometimes i miss it too, but it makes for stinky hair, clothes and breath    my husband has tried to quit (he doesn't smoke in the house), but he half smokes those little cherry cigarillos.

I never even tried one.  I was disgusted enough by both of my parents 2 plus pack-a-day habits that I never wanted to try it.

I too started at about 13 and smoked until I met Allycat, I wasn't ever a bad smoker and didn't have a problem quiting. But like Woo I used to have the drink alot need a cigarette habit.

if I am having a long or hard day at work, sometimes this kid danny will ask if I want a smoke. its been a few months, but every once in awhile I'll say yea. but then I get home and feel like I should scrub down good. No way is my head hitting the pillow smelling like smoke!

I always considered myself a considerate smoker. I never smoked while someone ate or blew the smoke in their face. I was always aware of the smoke smell and was always dousing on perfume and brushing my teeth a lot. Not that covers it all but it helps. After I come home from a bar them clothes are off as soon as I hit the door! (i know sounds bad!)
But the smoke on them is just horrible!

That is HORRIBLE!


I was considerate too- addicted to gum too! But I never could be a social smoker- gimme all or none. I was I could have done it more socially, not habitually!

OKay, I have to admit, but after reading all the other posts I feel like I'm singled out here. I smoke.  Obviously only cigarettes, but I do.  I don't smoke in my house, and I don't smoke that much, about 8 or 10 cigarettes per day.  I do smoke a lot more if I am drinking.  I would like to quit, but I am afraid to gain weight.  And my BF's is trying to quit too, so hopefully I won't be for long. 


At least I am honest.

Darlene I don't care if you smoke. Well I guess I take that back. You are my friend and I don't wish to lose you to ciggs. But what I am trying to say is that I won't just quit being your friend because you smoke. I have other friends who smoke. How do you think I bum them occasional ciggs?
All joking aside I meant what I said above.

smoking is not a factor for me whether or not i like someone.  i don't smoke (right now), and i'm not going snub someone if they smoke cigarettes.

Obviously it's not a factor for me, my husband smokes. He doesn't smoke in the house or the car, though, so I never have to smell like it. It never used to be an issue for me as long as it wasn't around me, but then he quit for a couple months, but now he's back smoking again, and now I can really tell the difference. But I try not to nag him about it.

I don't smoke and claim that I never have, but that's subject to interpretation. I used to smoke cloves just for the smell and I think they taste good, but to quote a former president, I didn't inhale. I didn't inhale the smoke into my lungs, I just rolled it around in my mouth to get the taste. And I had one or two a day maximum, it took me weeks to finish a pack. But, since a close friend of mine decided to quit about 2 1/2 years ago (she's "quit" a few times since then, but she's smoking again), I haven't even had any cloves and I've never had any cravings.

I'm a reformed smoker!!  I sneak one in once in a blue moon with utter disgust for myself!   Only when I am having an extra big booze up and someone is boring me ****less do I ever succumb!!

I'm a non smoker.  Doesn't bother me to be around it though.  I'm a "First Available" kind of at the restaurant.  My hubby dipped.  Totally disgusting, but at least I didn't have to worry about the 2nd hand bit.

I smoked a little in my teenage years but never seriously and still will have the occasional drag when I am very drunk but I have never really been a full blown smoker and never will.
