Mercury Prize winners say they have six tracks for the follow-up to their smash debut, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not.

The biggest break-out band of 2006 isn't wasting any time getting ready for 2007.

The Arctic Monkeys, who rode a heap of MySpace- and concert-driven buzz to a smash debut album and the 2006 Mercury Prize, have written six new songs for their next album, according to Observer Music Monthly. The band is also organizing a massive concert for 50,000 fans in Manchester in July 2007, featuring some of their favorite bands.

The band is currently recording with several producers in a London studio. The follow-up to Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not will include songs entitled "D If For Danger," "This House Is A Circus," "The Bakery Song," "Plastic Tramp," and "Balaclava," which is reportedly about a "radical" boy-girl relationship.

When asked about "This House is a Circus," frontman Alex Turner told the Observer Music Monthly, "There's something about it. Maybe it's just new, but it's just exciting. It's got some good rhymes in. 'This house is a circus ... berserk as f***.' I suppose it's a place you keep going back to--it could be an actual physical building, I suppose, or a headspace you go into."

Turner also unveiled a verse he is considering for an untitled b-side about marrying a bull fighter, which features the lyrics "She was marrying a matador / And he was with a weather girl / A very clever girl who stood amongst several once / A terrible dilemma and forever he'll regret the day / He didn't make the rescue from the bullring."

The new album is tentatively slated for a late spring release.

The Arctic Monkeys picked up two Grammy nominations last week, for Best Rock Instrumental Performance for "Chun Li's Flying Bird Kick" and Best Alternative Music Album for Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not.
