Nebraska Ice Storm Pics

Sparky asked about the Ice storm and the loss of power to thousands of people in central Nebraska. I just found this site with some "beautiful" pictures. Check them out and you will see why so many are without lights.

Picture site is HERE.

Not if I can help it. That was from the storm two weeks ago that give us the 9" of snow. Fortunately it was just cold enough that we didn't get the freezing rain like they did just 50-60 miles South of here.

I've seen ice break power poles before, but this is the first time I've ever seen the big steel main transmission lines fold over like that.

Wow Web, that's bad out there!!  Snow I can deal with, but really hate ice storms.  We have a chance of some ice coming in Sunday/Monday, but I don't think it will be anything like that.  At lease I hope not.

Shhhhhhhhh Sandy! We don't want to actually get that stuff! A little snow is ok. Better now than in the summer.

Conditions have to be just right. It happens when it is just warm enough to rain, but cold enough to freeze when it hits the ground. Nasty stuff.

Our first softball game was snowed out a couple years ago. That was just crazy!

NOOOOOOOOO!  stop!   i hate ice storms!

my very first trip to oklahoma was christmas of '86 and they'd just been hit by an ice storm.  when the rain is over and everything is frozen over and ice chards are hanging off the branches tinkling in the wind with the sun reflecting and bouncing off the ice like magic --  it's beautiful!  like being in a crystal land....

then reality hits  --  this sux!   that is what is coming my way!
