It was the laughing stock ...the brunt of many joke...but I loved my little Russian car. It was a workhorse, and thrived in the cold!

My first car...and my favorite car...was a Mustang Cobra II my dad gave me. He used to drive some sweet rides back in the day and, when I got my license, he decided it was the perfect excuse to get himself a new ride. It pretty much looked like this:

How I miss that car!

{{lol}} Yeah, she purred like a kitten. If I remember correctly, dad and I named her Veronica (Ronnie for short). Dad used to say (very long ago) that, like a ship, all good cars should have a woman's name and be "treated like a lady." {{lo}}

My current ride, which I call "The Little Red Balloon," is a Toyota Yaris Liftback. Cute, economical, and she makes me laugh every time! Her name is Roxanne (a very tongue-in-cheek choice of names). She looks alot like this...

{{lol}} Good one Squonk! Told you so...the car makes people giggle. She's a sassy little vixen though for such a small car! You should see her in snow!

My first car was a '71 Gran Torino and it looked exactly like the one in back of this pic.  I named her BettyLou, and used to pray every morning in the winter that she would start........for some reason this car was the hardest dang car to start on cold winter mornings.  I paid $700 for it in 1977, drove it for 3 years, then passed it down to my younger brother.

One of my classmates had a silver Gran Torino just like that.

I remember the day he was leaving school and thought he'd be cool and do a burnout from the stop sign. He stood on the gas peddle and the tires started squealing. At that point, he realized that he really didn't know what he was doing, panicked, and froze. After doing a cookie in the intersection, he put it through the chain link fence that goes around the football field.  It was rather funny.

This guy's parents live just a few houses from us. The last couple times he's been "home" he's been driving a new, black, Mazda RX-8. I hate him.

This is what I drive now... nothing special.  But it gets me to and from.  I've had it 4 years now.  It's a 2000 VW Passat

I'll try to make it a short story... when I had the GTO, a "hot" chick (older lady, 30 or so) in a Vette came up along side of me. She took off, I took off. She pulled in to an abandonded gas station. We spoke, nothing happened. I was going to be cool and haul @ss out of the station. Put the car in reverse and caught the island base on my mud flap. Ripped a chunk of Bondo off the drivers side rear wheel well. Gawd, did I feel dumb.

I guess I am a typical DAD. I drive a Toyota Highlander. If you want a real laugh, my wife drives an identical Highlander right down to same color, features etc.

My best car was when I was still single and I had my Toyota 4X4 SR5 with roll bars, KC lights, the works. It didn't shift well with a car seat in the middle.

Favorite car was a 1974 Plymouth Satellite Sebring. That was one VERY fast car--left many people behind me on the northboud 43. They don't make engines like that anymore.
