RE: HAHAHA NO SUPERBOWL SHUFFLE!!!!!!

Hmm,

I'm thinkin' maybe you'll start a trend in the flatland.  Perhaps everyone will want their very own Packer cap.

Ya know, none of our players spend their off season in prison

Um, OK Riggs...

Packers' Robinson Gets 90 Days in Prison

By GREGG BELL, AP Sports Writer

Wednesday, October 4, 2006

-->(10-04) 22:11 PDT Kirkland, Wash. (AP) --

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Koren Robinson was sentenced Wednesday to 90 days for violating probation in a drunken driving case. The sentence allows Robinson to finish this season before having to serve the time.

Robinson appeared in Municipal Court in this Seattle suburb that is home to the headquarters of his original NFL team, the Seahawks. It was the same court in which he pleaded guilty last year to drunken driving.

At the time, Robinson was given a five-year sentence that was suspended on condition he not drink or have any other law violations.

The Seahawks then released their former first-round draft pick before the Minnesota Vikings signed him.

Robinson, wearing a light gray pinstriped suit over a matching, mock-collared shirt, was silent throughout the 10-minute hearing. His attorney, John Fox, acknowledged only that Robinson failed to report his change of address, his change of employment status and other requirements to the probation office.

Judge Robert McSeveney, a visiting judge from nearby Kent, sentenced Robinson to 90 days, and said he could spend half of it on work-release.

"There are certainly numerous violations," McSeveney said. "Given Mr. Robinson's record ... 90 days in jail would be appropriate."

Robinson must begin serving his sentence by next March 1, when another court hearing is scheduled.

Robinson was charged with drunken driving again after he was stopped for speeding in August in Minnesota near the Vikings' training camp. He was released by the Vikings after that incident, and picked up by Green Bay last month.

"The real question is whether this case should be continued," McSeveney said. "Certainly you have other issues going on in other states."

"I know Mr. Robinson intends to comply," Fox said.

"You are not in a position not to comply," McSeveney replied, addressing Robinson. "I would make it real clear to you that there is no waffle in that."

Robinson declined comment after the hearing. Fox said "We won't be having any comment. Thank you," as he, Robinson and two others walked out of the court building.

Fox later did not return a telephone message left by The Associated Press.

Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy said he hoped Robinson would return to practice on Thursday.

Speaking before Robinson's sentence was handed out, McCarthy said he expected Robinson to be available for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams but wasn't sure about his long-term future.

"I don't have any information as far as a decision that's to be made," McCarthy said. "We'll know more when he gets back."

Sorry string Cheese, but football is WAR.

You're either with us or against us. The Packers are the mighty crusaders of all things good, while the Bears are the evil super-villian that must be defeated before they control the NFL.

We're fortunate that we have two advantages. One, God is now and has always been a Packer fan (rumour has it he chose Sunday to rest so he could watch the Packers play) and two, Da Bears still suck

But I still like YOU Cheese! Just not on Sunday afternoons between the hours of noon and three PM

Today I wore the hat while going on a full shopping day ( about 4 hours). I had my first "I don't know if I should help you because you are a Packers Fan" comment. I got to tell the story about the bet, & the person actually liked me more because of it because we Chicagoan's stick by our bets, whether we win or loose.
I went to The local Nickel & Dime, my bank, starbucks, Computer store, Comic Shop, Wal mart, & Jo-Ann Fabric (Mom asked me to pick something up).
That puts of the wearing for another week.

Mo-Man,

Have you considered the possibility that when your sentence is up you'll find that you WANT to continue wearing the hat?

The Green N' Gold is a badge of honor only a select few are allowed to wear. I think you'll miss it when it's gone

That's cool that it can be a little conversation starter for you.

I have a lot of respect for the fact that you have honored our agreement. You're a good man Mo-man!

Judge denies man's bid to change name to Peyton Manning

By Tony Reid | Wednesday, March 28, 2007 (8) Comments | Rate this article | Default | Large

DECATUR Scott Wiese's rush to become Peyton Manning was sacked by a judge Monday: She ruled he cannot change his name to that of the star quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts.

Wiese said that Macon County Circuit Judge Katherine McCarthy told him the name change was too confusing and risked infringing the privacy of the football player.

Wiese had gone through with the legal name change attempt to fulfill a bet with friends. The 26-year-old Forsyth man - a diehard Chicago Bears fan - had pledged that if his beloved team lost in the Super Bowl, he would change his name to the player who led the Indianapolis nemesis to victory.

''I had told the judge that I was not doing this because I wanted to change my name, but I was doing it because I was honoring a bet,'' Wiese said. ''I think she understood that.''

His lawyer and friend, Andy Bourey, thought going in that Wiese had a 50-50 chance of getting away with the name change.

''The judge had to do a kind of balancing test, to see if the reason he was changing his name was outweighed by the consequences of what he was changing his name to,'' said Bourey, 30. ''She was really good-hearted about it all, and I think she had a little bit of mercy for him because I am sure she knew this wasn't something he was excited about doing.''

Wiese's attempt to become Peyton Manning generated a publicity storm with newspapers, television and radio shows coast to coast queuing up to interview him. The frenzy even reached into the courts facility on Monday.

''The judge was telling us afterwards that all of the judges had earlier turned up to a meeting holding Peyton Manning masks,'' Wiese said. ''They had these things taped to wooden sticks and held them in front of their faces. They also left a football and a Chicago Bears hat in the courtroom.''

Two people overjoyed at Monday's court outcome were Wiese's parents, Debbie and Steve. They had filed an official objection to the name change with the court.

''Wiese is our family name, and we're proud of it,'' said Debbie, 54. ''And we just thought that if he was going to change his name, it should be for a better reason than that. I also didn't want to go through the rest of my life calling my son 'Peyton Manning.'''

Wiese said there will be no appeal, and so the judge's decision is final. He isn't expecting another publicity frenzy over the outcome but already was booked to appear on a Los Angeles-based radio talk show Tuesday afternoon.
