I'm Grateful...

Not sure if we already have a thread like this since the search isn't working--

Last night I came to the realization that I need to spend more time focusing on what I am grateful for and less time on what I don't have. I will most likely post something on MySpace as well. I want something that I can go back to and read when I need to change my thinking. When the search feature works again this will be nice to go back to. Feel free to join me.

I am grateful for my loving husband that sees me like I could never see me.

Thanks Woo, and you are right.  I am so glad to be alive.  Finding out that my heart stopped has really changed alot of things I think about.

I'm copying off of Woo's paper.

I'm grateful for my husband.  He accepts my craziness and flighty-ness, and actually understands me and it as crazy as I am.

I'm grateful for my two girls....they keep me sane and young at heart, taught me to not sweat the small stuff, make me laugh at myself, and taught me what unconditional love is really all about!!!

Holy close calls, Batman! Today I am VERY grateful for my good karma. I parked in the back lot for work today (across the street from the building). It is not the greatest neighborhood but there's security out there and the lot is fenced in, so at least there's some protection. As I left the car and started walking toward work I saw another car pull into the spot behind mine. I found out later this morning (someone pointed out the car I saw pull in behind me when telling the story) that the owner of the car, just as they stepped out of the vehicle, was robbed at gunpoint. Aaaaah! That could have been me if I'd been there just a little later or parked in a different spot! I feel so freakin' luucky right now!

Yes, it was a bit scary to think about. I don't think I will park back there for a long time. When the word gets out about something like this, it tends to happen again because people know they can get away with it. So much for our security staff paying attention - they didn't even notice it happen and they were in the security shed just across the street, in clear eyeshot!

Easy there big guy - my but aren't you a pistol  tonite! {{lol}} You know those agency security folks around here aren't always cream of the crop. I more often see them nap or do homework/crossword puzzles than anything else when they're in the shack. Not all are like that, but you just never know wat kind of assistance or protection you really have.

A tribute to a friend whom I am grateful to have known. This was his favorite poem, and to keep a promise I ask you to read and enjoy.

"Evening Star" by Edgar Allen Poe

'Twas noontide of summer,
And mid-time of night;
And stars, in their orbits,
Shone pale, thro' the light Of the brighter, cold moon,
'Mid planets her slaves,
Herself in the Heavens,
Her beam on the waves.
I gazed awhile On her cold smile;
Too cold- too cold for me-
There pass'd, as a shroud,
A fleecy cloud,
And I turned away to thee,
Proud Evening Star,
In thy glory afar,
And dearer thy beam shall be;
For joy to my heart Is the proud part
Thou bearest in Heaven at night,
And more I admire
Thy distant fire,
Than that colder, lowly light.
