I mentioned to a few of you that my mom was going in for surgery on her legs today.

She has some really bad veins and has had problems with them busting open and bleeding for no reason.

They did some laser work and rerouted a few things.  The surger was just under four hours but she came out fine and even was able to walk from the car to the house without trouble! 

After three days off her feet she's supposed to be good as new!  Amazing.

Anyway, I wanted to update those of you that were aware.

She's good Ruby, thanks for asking.

She says her legs started really hurting, but that was to be expected.  I think the thing she hates the most is being forced to do nothing but lay on the couch for 72 hours. 

My Mom is the type of person who's always keeping busy, even around the house.  Not one to sit and relax.

Last time- is she better now?

Emily is having a reaction to her immunizations, so that might put a crimp in my weekend, the doctor just called me back and said itf the swelling gets worse or spreads, bring her into the ER. Of course I do not care if her room does not get done, but I am on a roll!

Ooh, sorry to hear about Emily, hope she doens't wind up with a trip to the ER, that's never fun.

Mom seems to be fine.  I took her in Friday to have ultrasounds done on her legs (to check for blood clots), the technician that did it isn't supposed to interpret the results but he said there was nothing that alarmed him or made him think he needed to call the doctor right away.

Her legs still ache a lot, but I'm sure that's normal.  They made several incisions on the front and back of both legs.  She was wrapped like a mummy on both legs for two days, that probably didn't help either.

I think she'll be fine.  This week she's supposed to take it easy, so I'll probably  drive her to work and pick her up so she doesn't have to walk too much.

Oh yeah, she still works.  She's only 59.  Got another five or so years until she retires I think. 

She has a job with the city only about 8 blocks fro mhome, so she usually walks to work unless the weathers bad, then my sister or I take her.

But Erica got a regular daytime job now, so it's pretty much me for the time being.

She is young! My dad is 72 and my mom would be 74 if she was still here. They had me when they were older though.

What is Erica doing? Did she graduate college?

Erica is out of college and working in a temp to hopefully perm job.

She majored in Human Resources, and I think the job she has is a HR assistant, but I'm not completely sure.
