I'm SO excited, this is the year Daylight Savings Time starts early!

Or is it "ends early"?  I'm never sure.

Anyway, no more waiting til April.  From now on it starts the second Sunday of March.

And it doesn't end until November as opposed to October now either!  It's a full six extra weeks of later sunsets.

They say they did this to help conserve energy (fewer people using lights in their homes because it's lighter longer when they get home).  I don't know why we don't just go to this PERMENANTLY, year round!

In fact, let's spring ahead TWO hours!

I've often told people that when I get older I'm gonna set my clocks to DAYLIGHT JIM TIME!

I'll just wear a watch that shows two times, MY TIME and the actual time.

In MY time zone it will be light until 10 PM everynight, EVEN in winter!  What the heck, with all the 24 hours stores and stuff, if I'm self-empoyed, what will it matter!

I'll just have to remember when people say they'll meet me at 11 AM that's actually 2 PM JIM TIME

Do I look CraAZEe to YOU!

I am excited too, I am ready to get out and get my yard going. I also like to take E out at night when she gets home, but it has been too dark. Come on Spring!

Oh yeah and JR

I don't see the point. Same amount of hours in the day. Basically same amount of daylight as the day before. The earth's rotation doesn't care what our clocks say the time is.

Ah, bah humbug! I'm just mad because I have to patch four servers for these two silly weeks of early time change. I should just leave it and when customers complain about the server being one hour off, I'll just say "I'll get it fixed within the next two weeks".

Web,

It is the same amount of hours per day, but we generally don't use the morning hours the way we do our evening hours.

The government figures an hour of daylight at night saves more energy than an hour of daylight in the morning is all.

I concur

LET'S GO FOR THREE!!!!

I'm anti-daylight savings, probably because I've only had to deal with it for a year now. It's unnatural for the human body. It was a hard thing to get used to last year, and now they're changing it on us! I don't see why they don't just do it permanently, now we've got what, 4 months of non-daylight savings? That's going to make winter seem all the more dark.

I used to argue for the permanent change, but then I read and article that said if they changed it permanently it would be to the winter schedule of it getting dark earlier.

There was a reason why, which I don't recall, but I DEFINATELY do NOT want them to do that!

I'd be all for permanently being on the extra hour of light at night schedule though.  Like I said, let's go for THREE HOURS   Sure it would be dark out til 11 AM sometimes, but in summer it would be light til MIDNIGHT!

WOO HOO!

Wow. I read this about three times, sought clarity elsewhere, and still didn't understand what you were talking about Riggs. Now that I've heard it live, I'd  like to share some helpful information with you for your...er...um...condition:

Delirium

Background:
Delirium or acute confusional state is a transient global disorder of cognition. The condition is a medical emergency associated with increased morbidity and mortality rates. Early diagnosis and resolution of symptoms are correlated with the most favorable outcomes. Therefore, it must be treated as a medical emergency.

Delirium is defined as a transient, usually reversible, cause of cerebral dysfunction and manifests clinically with a wide range of neuropsychiatric abnormalities. The clinical hallmarks are decreased attention span and a waxing and waning type of confusion.

The word delirium is derived from the Latin term meaning "off the track." This syndrome was reported during Hippocrates' time, and, in 1813, Sutton described delirium tremens.

(JD, quick call for a doctor!)  {{lol}}

They laughed at Columbus when he said the earth was round!

You'll all see!  Jeremy Time will be HUGE.  HUGE!!!!

The AVERAGE worker works 9-5 and spends most of their daylight hours trapped in a cubicle.  Under MY plan they'll have 7 full hours of sunlight after work.

People will be happier, healthier, and have MUCH better tans in my world

Um, yeah. So, are the imaginary kitties running around the studio telling you these things are logical, or is it the voices in your head? {{lol}} Just teasing...

Will do!

You'll all love it in bubbletown.  No cash.  Everything is done on the barter system.  No automobiles, everything is within walking distance.

For fun at night we pull out the lawnchairs, point em' toward one of the walls of the bubble and laugh at the people we wouldn't let in, as they get wet in the rain pressing their noses up against our bubble

Oh, and if for some reason you have to leave bubbletown to do something, (like perhaps visit a relative that didn't cut the mustard and wasn't allowed into bubbletown) you have to travel in a human sized version of one of those plastic gerbil balls

(Yes, I've given this too much thought.  Usually during long nights at Vestcom, I'd sit there and flesh out my imaginary bubble-town plans )

Oh, I meant to ask...I would guess that Bubbletown would have intervals where FFR is piped through speakers all over the town for our musical enjoyment. But, you wouldn't let JD play that awful Hmong music, or Heino I hope? I don't want to have nightmares or sudden fits of convulsions in that blissful little place... Bahahahaha!

  NO HMONG MUSIC

We'll pipe that to loudspeaker OUTSIDE the bubble to keep people away
