Yeah I know I do...lunch is usually good too!  Caesar salad with grilled chicken today!  And usually they send up a pile of different nuts and a piece of fruit to snack on as well!  smile

Lobster is always so-so if it is cooked too long, or not so fresh.

I likes mine grilled

Sounds like a good dinner to me! I had ham and broccoli. But the broccoli needs pressure washed or something, it was gritty so I didn't finish it.

Ruby, your recipe sounds yummy. You know I wanted to go to culinary school before I wanted to be a teacher! Sometimes I wish I would have done so. May I suggest a recipe from one of my favorites, Giada de Laurentis on Foodnetwork.com. She has this amazing recipes for pasta with a carbonara sauce. I will trade this recipe with my soul because when I cook it for others I like to pass it off as my own. Enjoy....and ladies this is not friendly to the ba-dunk-a-dunk.

fn_print_logo.gifCinnamon-Pancetta Carbonara
Recipe courtesy Giada De Laurentiis
4 slices bacon, chopped
4 slices pancetta, chopped
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 cups whipping cream
1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan
6 large egg yolks
18 ounces fresh fettuccine
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives

Saute the bacon and pancetta in a heavy large frying pan over medium heat until almost crisp, about 5 minutes. Sprinkle the cinnamon over the bacon and pancetta and saute until the bacon is crisp and golden, about 2 minutes longer. Cool. Whisk in the cream, cheese, and yolks to blend. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the fettuccine and cook until it is just tender but still firm to the bite, stirring occasionally, about 3 minutes. Drain. Add the fettuccine to the cream mixture and toss over medium-low heat until the sauce coats the pasta thickly, about 5 minutes (do not boil). Season the pasta, to taste, with salt and pepper. Transfer the pasta to a large wide serving bowl. Sprinkle with chives and serve.

Oooooo...that sounds yummy! And I like the fact that it seems easy to make. OK, I'm a ditz, but what's a ba-dunk-a-dunk?

Baked Zucchini Sticks I

3 medium zucchini
2 large eggs
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs

  1. Preheat the oven to 350*F (175*C). Grease a baking sheet and set aside.
  2. Cut each washed and unpeeled zucchini in half, then each lengthwise into 6 spears.
  3. In a large, shallow bowl, whisk the eggs.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the Parmesan cheese and bread crumbs.
  5. Dip the spears into the beaten egg, then coat completely in the bread crumb mixture.
  6. Place the spears on prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot.

Yeah, maybe one with a specific theme...like desserts.  Who doesn't like dessert?

I think a themed cookbook is a great idea, as long as I can steal recipes.

I agree completely! Who wants to do dishes and invest the time unless it is something to enjoy? Not me.

Oh I agree completely. I like to cook now and then but I love to have someone cook for me, even if a simple dish. I keep telling my teenage cousin (he's 18) that girls like it when a guy can cook and does that kind of thing for her.
