Ever had a fake id???

This story made me remember mine. I had one made before I moved here that made me 21 when I 17. Because no one knew what a real IL license looked like it worked like a charm til I turn 21, I mean 25, well you know!

Apparently, $17 isn't enough to convince an Iowa City Police officer to look the other way on using another's ID.

While at the Summit Bar about 1:10 a.m. today, Iowa City Police said they asked Amber Breanne Gordon, 19, of 801 Crosspark Ave. Apt 2B, for her ID. Gordon gave the officer the ID of another person, trying to pass it off as her own.

Gordon then asked if she could be let go with a warning, according to police reports. Police told her "no," at which point Gordon asked if she could give them money to let her go. Later, Gordon said she was “kind of joking” but said that if the officer was “down,” then she would pay, police said. Gordon said she had between $15 and $20. Police said she actually had $17.

Bribery is a class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a $7,500 fine. She also was cited for unlawful use of another’s ID and possession of alcohol under the legal age.

Gordon was expected to be released from the Johnson County Jail this morning.

I never had a "fake" ID, it just wasn't mine. {{lol}} I had an older friend who just looked a lot like me who gave me hers for a 16th birthday gift. Not that i really needed it - I didn't drink. I only used it to get in to see concerts!

I'm impressed Darlene!

I never had one, I was a good girl. Heh, ya believe that? I had older friends who would buy alcohol for me, and a couple bartender friends, so I never really needed one. I always said if I did, I would just use my mom's, some people thought we were twins anyway! And, since my boyfriend (now husband) was so much older than me but looked young, when the servers would ask us both for id, he'd show them his and I'd say I left mine at home. They were usually surprised at how old he was, they didn't even bother with mine!
