Idol said they had a huge announcement for today and I think they came through.

They are going to use the worlds top rated television show to help fight poor conditiions and hunger in Africa AND the US.  Lot's of stars including Bono are lining up to help, and companies will be donating money as the show documents their efforts.

Bono said "We'll see worlds collide when Africa appears on America's most watched television show", it will be "Pop music history".

It's cool to see them trying to give back and raise awareness.  I figured the big announcement would just be some sort of self-promotion announcement.
