two jobs? what are your jobs anyway?

Oh AC I work in admin at the school during the day then I have a second job at night which is my own little venture!  I teach pc skills to underpriveleged indigenous people!  I totally planned and funded this myself!  Just giving something back to the community!  It is a very rewarding to see the gratitude you get from these people!  It is so good for the soul!

Trade Mz!  I'd love to trade!  But I do enjoy what I'd do!  I'd trade just to show you what I do and what a good feeling it gives you!

Before I came up to Weipa I had decided to fund a project to do something for the indigenous people of Cape York!  They don't get much training or support from the government to help better their situation.  They are just given money and not much else so they spend their days just drinking and getting into strife.

They do not have much knowledge in the way of modern technology skills and I had heard that they wanted to learn to communicate better with the rest of society so I took it upon myself to fund and set up a program to educate the indigenous people in the ways of modern communication.   I set up a program to teach them basic computing skillls, internet, email, and also starting to educate them in other areas as well! 

I teach about 4 nights per week due to a large response from the community!  I have applied for government funding to help me with this and to at least get an assistant to help me and so far have been successful and have been given a subsidy to help me but just awaiting it to come through!

This may not sound like a big thing to some but to the local people of Weipa it is a big thing and I am proud to have initiated it!
