That dream is now a reality for one very lucky South Jersey retiree who hit the big jackpot at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City over the weekend.Marguerite Pittman said she was playing the Wheel of Fortune slot machine. That's when she got lucky and made her fortune. She won $2.4 million."When I looked, I was like, 'Oh my God.' You know, it's just surreal," she said.Pittman said she is a regular at the Borgata, heading there at least once a month for a girls' night out. She'd never won more than a few hundred bucks before.On Saturday, though, her luck changed after she was persuaded to stay up past her bedtime."I would never be on the casino floor at 2:30 a.m.," Pittman said, noting that it was her daughter who convinced her to stay awake. "I said to her, 'I'm going to go over on the big wheel.'"She sat down at the Five-Cent Wheel Of Fortune Super-Spin Video Slot but, "I said, 'Oh, I'm starting to lose on this. I'm moving over one seat," Pittman recalled.So, she moved and placed a maximum bet of $3.75 twice, and on that second spin all of the Wheel Of Fortunes lined up across the middle of the screen.The former school registrar from Pemberton Township had hit the big one."I saw the $2 million, and I was in shock after that," she said.Actually, it was $2,462,754.24, to be exact."Then, I kind of believed it, when they gave me this," she said, as she held up an oversized check outside her home Monday.At first, her husband didn't believe it after his son got the call from Atlantic City."He was trying to tell me, 'Mom won $2 million,' or something, and I said, 'I didn't think that could be possible," said James Pittman.His wife plans to take the money in a lump sum -- about $1.5 million before taxes."I'm 62. I'm not taking annuity," she said, laughing. "I'm taking the cash."The couple plans to make home improvements, share the money with their three children and do some traveling, saying she'd like to go to Ireland. She's of Irish heritage, but this St. Patrick's Day will be filled with more green than she ever imagined."Oh, I truly believe -- luck of the Irish, yes," she said.
