Two good things have come out of the PSA's we were running regarding the Amber Alerts.

You know the ones...

"Because of the RIAA a child may DIE!  MAYBE YOUR CHILD!"

JD & I were both squeemish about this below-the-belt attack, and after three weeks agreed it was right to pull that particular spot.

But sometimes the only way to get attention is to go over the top (ask PETA).  I'm not fond of the tactic, but I have to say I have read very little about the royalty rate decision in the mainstream press.  HOWEVER, in the last week I've read FOUR stories about the AMBER ALERT PSA's, and it's brought attention to our situation without really bringing any negative publicity to our tactics other than by John Simpson of SoundExchange.

The other positive point is that it made me think about the fact we weren't doing all we could to support the Amber Alert system.

I'm a big believer in it.  I think there's nothing worse than some scum abducting a child for God knows what purpose.

We've always run the Amber Alerts on our home page, but now we will run updated Amber Alerts ON AIR every hour, fifteen minutes after the hour.

If there is no Amber Alert it will just be a short 10 second announcement that we support the Amber Alert system.

I just finished testing the setup and we appear to be all set.
