Funny you should ask. I just posted the most amazing pasta recipe on the what's for dinner thread. I thought Ruby and others might enjoy.  You should make this recipe for friends. I guarantee it is an instant croud pleaser. I love multiple chefs. Some of them I admire so much I would love to meet them in person just to tell them how much I admire them.  Even though I know I couldn't compete I would love to be on Bobby Flay's Throwdown. I love:
Emeril
Giada de Laurentis
Bobby Flay
Paula Dean
Mario Bitali
Micheal Chiarello
Tyler Florence
Rachel Ray (even though she is cheesier than chedder)
The Barefoot Contessa

Uh I am running out of breath....

Hahaha! Oh that is sooooo you! Your cannoli and mango dulce de leche cake was outstanding, BTW. So is there anything you want to know about any or all the forum members?

I think the forum is pretty straight forward. I did get a strange respone in my "welcome Tara" post. Someone was asking if I listen to FFR, what is my reason for being in the forum, am I lonely?, and something about needing my FBI file. I found that reply rather amusing. I find the forum fun and the people here seem nice and not predator-like.

my fav is Leah Chase....she had a little cooking show on PBS and I had the pleasure of eating at her place in New Orleans, then meeting her again when she visited Milwaukee last summer. As far as I know, she is still living in a trailer across the street from where she is trying to rebuild her restaurant...cry

MMMMM....Fried chicken.  Get in my belly!  That sounds mm, mm good JD. So garougal wants to know kind of music I listen to. You silly you know what I listen to you sally. I listen to a lot of different kinds of music. However I do find as I get older I like less and less of the up and coming new artists particularly in the r&b and rap areas. I was just thinking about the types of music I listen to during particular seasons of the year. For example summer always calls for Jimmy Buffet and winter and fall requires some Norah Jones. How about you?

aw I started to feel that way right when I was about your age Tara...this "kids music" wasn't targeting ME as their primary audience anymore...

I long for the good old days of Vanilla Ice and En Vogue....

......no I don't......smile

New music just isn't the same for me. My parents raised me on a wide array of music which is included on my myspace. I think garougal can relate to that.  I wish I was listening to your playlist today Heth.  I am eager to buy some Johnny Cash.  Something about Joaquin Phoenix singing Johnny Cash.

he did a PHENOMENAL job!!! so so many old folks I know kept goin "he's not johnny cash" without seein the movie first. no, of course he's not johnny cash....but for an actor to have the guts to tackle that, and then even come that close to imitating johnny cash!?! I was blown away....phenomenal acting, to even bring the singing too?!?"

I couldn't agree more JD. Did you know Joaquin is the recorded singer on the Walk the Line soundtrack. I went to buy the CD thinking all of the songs were sung by Mr Cash. Then I went on amazon to preview the cd and found this out. Interesting huh?

it sure is Tara.....that metamorphasis he did to be johnny right down to the singin was astounding!

G-gal, I think you'd really enjoy it. I got to tell you tho, some films, you NEED to see on the big screen. and usually thats the big sci-fi action thrillers, big effects etc...I am not quite sure why, but I feel this film is one of them must see on big screen movies. maybe its just to get fully wrapped into the idea sight and sound-wise how good this guy pulled off doin johnny cash.....I might be wrong...but I suppose most movies are better on big screens anyhow..well, I mean,,,not the SUCKY ones..smile

Thanks Tara! I'll take you up on that! I was really impressed to learn so much about Johnny Cash when I was in Memphis...he really rose to fame from Sun Studios there. A rough life, to be sure.

Too bad I couldn't have been with you. I think I would have had a lot of fun in Memphis. Talk about music history.

Sounds like the perfect opportunity for a Roadtrip! Memphis is awesome! Graceland was surprisingly smaller than I expected, though.
