All I have is an interior coat closet underneath the stairs going up the second floor. I've always wanted a house with a basement though just for such. I grew up in a house with a basement and loved it. It was always soooo cool down there in the summertime.

yeah we do, but its not a full basement. Its got egress windows..( about three feet under ground) the rest is above ground.

I know I had a basement for most of my life but in our old house it was pretty scary when we had bad storms. I feel much safer here now.

We go into our downstairs bathroom. But we live in the middle of a long brick building between two other brick buildings, so I don't think we'd get much more than our roof taken off. I also watch the cats. I figure if they're not scared, I shouldn't be. There's only one time when I went into the bathroom during a storm, and that was when I was home alone. And it did have some tornadoes, but they didn't come close to our house.

My parent's house has a basement, and I remember going down there many times.

We have a basement here at home that we go to when tornados threaten, but up at our cottage we have absolutely nowhere to go.......underneath the beds is our only option when we're there. I want a storm cellar put in, but we can't find a company to build one for us. hmm

if we get hit with a really bad storm I say we are screwed! The house is in such bad shape I doubt that it would hold up. We have no basement. I guess we would get in the tub despite the fact that there is a window in that room. I really think that would be the safest place. The last time the tornade siren went off we thought about all this. Plus we usually have the road construction equipment in front of the house. Yep screwed I tell ya!

woo, you can come to my house if ya want.

One person that was in the neighborhood that the tornado was spotted near said it came up so fast they didnt have time to go anyplace.
