They've announced a test program called Live365 Mobile in which they are testing their stream over wireless phones and in auto's (using adapters).
I'm just reading up on it now, but it's good to know they're looking into the future like this. The test right now is only for people who have T-Mobile I believe, but the phones are capable of tuning in all Live365 stations.
This is from the website where the company is talking about how it works...
Works with Wi-Fi but don't wait - use your unlimited mobile data plan NOW!
Just a note - this isn't a "wait for wi-fi to be everywhere" product... this works today with your $25-$50/month unlimited data plans through the regular cellular network anywhere there is broadband coverage - which is a lot of metropolitan areas throughout the US.
I've driven around, streaming Live365 continuously through Oakland, San Francisco, San Mateo, Pleasanton, San Jose, Hayward, even driving from San Francisco all the way out to Modesto and even at the horse ranches in Lodi, it works great! I've also tested it driving around Los Angeles and Hollywood with only a few short dropouts and Radio365-Mobile reconnects within seconds automatically. And, unlike satellite radio, it stays connected when you drive under bridges, into underground car parks, on the bus, and all the way into your office, at your desk. No sweat.
I have an unlimited data plan on my phone with Alltel. Yes it is expensive ($60.00/mo) but I can use it two ways. I can access the internet and email directly from the smartphone, or I can connect my laptop to the web through it and use it that way too.
I tried streaming FFR directly through the phone but couldn't get that to work. I can stream it though the laptop/phone connection though. I don't know if they would ever enforce it, but the terms of service for my data plan specifically says they can shut me off for streaming media so I don't do it. I had to try it once while driving down the road just to see if it worked.
I'm sure it won't use up your minutes . . . they will have an extra plan to get more $$ out of you for the music access. Giving you an additional feature without charging you extra? Its just not the cellular way.

Web, they were just talking about the service plans.
Verizon specifically says no, but there are others that are fine with it. I think Sprint was one. It sounds like Live365 is pressuring the phone companies a little to help push this technology through.
Afterall, an unlimited data plan isn't unlimited if it has limits now is it?
Oh, and the whole thing with this is that they have software you put on your phone so you can tune in the network (Web mentioned it didn't work on his phone. Without the free software it won't work).
