I have just woken to the sad and shocking news that Chris Benoit (Proffesional Wrestler) has, according to rumours killed his wife and son and then taken his own life!
I can't even begin to understand whats go on with Chris and his family but my thoughts are with his family and his wife's family.
Purely on a professional level Chris was one of the greatest men to ever step foot in the squared circle, and with him and Eddie both being gone now the wrestling world has lost two of the best.
I'm not a wrestling fan, and had never heard of this man, but on a stricly human level this kind of news is always sad.
The idea of killing those you love before you kill yourself just has never made any sense to me. I guess you have to be screwed up in the head to understand the logic.

The only way I can even remotely see it is if he got in an argument and killed them, but then felt so guilty for what he'd done he killed himself.
But I HIGHLY doubt that's the case. This happens way too often and it seems to be more of a selfish thing like you said. Sort of a "I'm going out and I'm taking you with me" attitude.
My sister told me about Chris this morning. How horrible! I know that tragedy is everywhere but it seems like the wrestling world has been hit a lot lately. Chris has always kinda creeped me out though. But I always just thought it was part of his character. I haven't watched in quite awhile though.

I just now heard on the news that they now believe the wife was strangled on Friday night, the 7 year old son was strangled on Saturday morning, and he hanged himself on either Late Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
They added at the end that Steroids were also found in the home.
Something would have to be seriously wrong with your head to strangle your family with your own hands.
I have read that he placed bibles next to the body's too, so it seems like that in his mind that this was some kind of mercy killing, he also sent text messages to co-workers with his address and one telling them how to enter the house and where his dogs were, sugesting that this was all planned and he didn't just snap.
As for the steriods, the business is full of them unfortuntely, I doubt that's a major factor, other than it may have made him more aggresive.
Not that anything could ever explain this completely, this sheds some light. How very sad.
In the days before pro wrestler Chris Benoit killed his wife and child and hanged himself, the couple argued over whether he should stay home more to take care of their mentally retarded 7-year-old son, an attorney for the wrestling league said Wednesday.
"I think it's fair to say that the subject of caring for that child was part of what made their relationship complicated and difficult, and it's something they were both constantly struggling with," said Jerry McDevitt, an attorney for World Wrestling Entertainment. "We do know it was a source of stress and consternation."

Yeah this is what I am hearing too Ruby, Daniel, thier son suffered from Fragile X Syndrome apparently and if Nancy was trying to get Chris to give up wrestling then it would be like trying to get an alcholic to give up the booze, he lived for wrestling, what ever his supposed reasons though, there is no justification for what he has done, I have respected this man for many years, he is one of the most respected men to ever wrestle, but his legacy will never be the same now, wrestling fans I know are very angry at him.
