Actually that's not true JD.  You KNOW I've admitted the failures of Bush over the past three years.  The man is far from perfect.

But in our political discussions all you do is complain.  Just like your Democratic party you offer no solutions, no indication of how to do things better, only that George Bush is the antichrist and he's doing everything wrong.

The Democrats seem to think they have all the answers yet very rarely actually produce any of them.  It's easy to bitch and moan, show me how you're going to do better (by you I mean the party, not you specifically).  "Get out of Iraq now" isn't a plan.  It doesn't address anything that needs to be addressed so we can actually pull out.

Please, for once.  Tell us WHY you're better, not just that you ARE better!

well I know we go over this again and again, I just think the democrats, traditionally anti-war, certainly would have and could have ousted Saddam and his 2 sons with 3 well placed bullets from a CIA gun, should it (and it most likely would have) been necessary. Because I value life, I hate war. The war on terror and the war on Iraq would have remained 2 seperate wars, if indeed war was the best answer in either situation. Now its just one big ****ty ****ed up mess.  If the complaint is higher taxes, maybe some of that extra tax money could have been used to find Osama like I dunno, a week or 2 after 911? I think democrats would be more efficient and effective!smile

Keep in mind I would so be voting Green Party if I didn't think it'd take away votes from the democrats.smile

George Bush looks like a dumb monkey.smile

You're right, we've been over it and over it and we'll never agree.

But as far as the CIA putting a bullet in Saddams head, that's just naive.  The guy wasn't an idiot.  He didn't get where he got by trusting everyone around him.  To get a CIA operative close enough to put a bullet in his head is a lot easier said than done.  If it COULD have been done I too would agree it would have been the best way to go, but I don't believe for a minute it's that simple.

As far as Osama, again, you make it sound too simple.  The man is a coward.  He isn't coming out to fight, he's hiding in caves and has the money to pay off as many people as he needs to in order to stay hidden.  Not to mention the nut jobs who think he's a hero and help him for free.

Again, this just illustrates my problem with the Democratic Party, everything is so simple in their eyes.  Every single major problem this country has is complex and has levels to it that are ignored when Democrats bitch and moan about how everything is broken.

Get out of Iraq, that's the plan.  Just do it.  With no consideration to what it means to the future of the planet or what risk it puts us and our allies at in the future.

Fix health care, that's the plan.  Just do it.  As in all things Democrat let's have the government run it.  With no consideration to the fact that while we all hate the insurance companies the fact is they employ HUNDREDS of thousands of people in this country.  Good, hard working people like you!  Fixing health care would affect millions in a negative way.

But look at the bright side JD.  You have the Senate now.  In a year you'll most likely have the White House too.  You got four years.  Show us how you're better, and try not to blame every single bad thing that happens on the administration before yours.  Hold yourself to the same scrutiny that you've held this administration to and maybe, just maybe, I can have more respect for your party.

LASTLY, you always said you wanted to keep this forum non-political, which I agree is a good idea.

You started this, again, with your backhanded Bush bashing Scooter Libby thread.  If you want to go political in this forum I'm not gonna back down from it, let's take the gloves off and go!

For the sake of everyone else here though, who I think would prefer not to deal with politics in their "fun" forum, I suggest we both stand down and agree not to bring it in here anymore.
