The wife and I went to Summerfest to see INXS. As I stood watching them and listening... I could help but chuckle. So many of my favorite old bands are resurfacing to do concerts. They will sometimes be touring with "new" material but, in most cases, they are just living in the past. Back to INXS. The new singer does a fine job of imitating Michael H. It just seemed like we were watching an awesome cover band.Even when bands have all the original members, it's just odd to watch some old dudes covering the music I loved years ago. Your thoughts.
Squonk.
I need to mention, Phil Collins did a wonderful job of stepping in to Gabriel's shoes.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the music/show. It's just odd. I don't dress like I did in 1982 or 83 although I thought it was cool looking. If I did that now, I'd just be some 46 year old guy dressed like 1982. Some of the fans (mostly women) were trying to be 20 again. It was sort of scaring me. I also like venus where you can sit more than standing only.

Hey Old Man Squonk. Saw Tesla over the weekend, and the place was packed! People were so into it. But their new album is all covers, as is Poison's, so I guess they'd both be in that category...
But I'm going to see RUSH tonight!

Saw them for their 30th. It was cool. I wasn't stoned or really drunk. I guess that has something to do with the "experience" They performed well. I'm not a huge fan of their newer (1985 and newer?) Caress of Steel, RUSH, 2112 etc were my favs
