Got my car back from the shop!

But it's not fixed.

They said it's a sway bar and they have to get a new one from the dealer.  It won't be in until tomorrow.

They claim I can drive it around town (no long trips) and it should be fine even though it's clunking.

I hope they're right.  I don't want to do anymore damage, but I got stuff I gotta get done tonight hmm.gif

Eek... are you sure you want to chance it? that doesn't sound so good...

SWAY BAR
Definition: A component that's often used in a suspension system to control body roll. A sway bar may be used on the front and/or rear suspension to help keep the body flat as the vehicle rounds a corner. This greatly improves a vehicle's cornering agility. Replacing the sway bar with one of a larger diameter can increase it even more.

I found this graphic on the web.  It looks like the sway bar is only part of a large bar that runs between the tires.

The tie-rod is the one that if it snapped would cause real trouble I believe.

I only have about 10 miles round trip to do, I'm hoping it'll be fine.  The mechanics are usually pretty good with telling me if it's drivable or not.

Where's MadMema when I need her?  She'd know if it was ok to drive.

I'm sure it was okay. Otherwise the mechanics would have the liability if it wasn't.
