Alright, I kicked off season five of Buffy last night.
PLEASE tell me there is some bizzaro answer to why suddenly Buffy is living back at home AND she suddenly has a sister who appears to be about 12 years old?!?!?
You know, I'm always defending TV against guys like JD who belittle it as nothing but crap.
I beleive TV is art, that the men & women who devote their lives to creating a series are creating art that is every bit as valuable and worthwhile as those who produce movies, plays or any other performance art.
But when a writing group or a producer pull this kind of crap it pretty much makes that argument sound ridiculous!
Please let me know if I'm wrong, but I recall absolutely NO mention of Buffy having a sister for the first four years. But suddenly lil' sis' is such a major drag on Buffy. EVERYONE seems to know her (Zander, Willow, etc.).
It reeks of a writing staff that ran out of ideas so they decided to take the lazy route and just pretend there was another character there the whole time.
TELL ME that it turns out the first few episodes of season five are an alternate reality, or a dream, OR SOMETHING.
we all went through this feeling JR! I kept questiong my husband and scratching my head! It will be explained just gotta keep watching. It is a weird season though.

That's hilarious Riggs! That is exactly the reaction I had...wondering what the heck was going on! I need to pick up the DVDs, I really miss that show.

Too bad you missed that Amazon sale. What a deal! All seven seasons for 99. That was what finally got me to buy them. At that price I figured even if I wasn't crazy about it, it's still a 144 hours of entertainment and it would have good resale value.
I bet if I sold it I'd get all my money back and maybe even a little more.
