Thanks for the posting JR- This home computer truly is on its last leg I think. I've still got one more of the Penguin seeing the Liberty Bell. I'll see if I can dig it up. Thanks again.

No teasing JD about the hat. My original Opus was donated and shipped up to FFR studios. All I had left was this Showering Opus and a Holiday Opus with Reindeer antlers on his head. All I have to say about the pix with him at the Falls is, "I've got my cap and towel, Where's the Soap?"

Ruby asked about the trip. It was a blast. I took my two - s and my mom. We left after work on a Friday. Drove through Ohio (saw Big Butter Jesus for anybody that listens to Bob and Tom) and Michigan. Got to Niagara Falls, Canada Saturday afternoon. Did all the tours on Sunday. The only one I'd REALLY recommend though is doing the boats, "Lady in the Mist". The next best thing is just seeing it all from the viewing areas.

Monday morning we headed out to NYC. Did a slight detour from the Googled map and instead drove through the Catskill Mtns. BEAUTIFUL country. Got to our hotel that afternoon. We stayed at a Quality Inn right off of Times Square. It was AWESOME.

That Tuesday we did the double decker tour buses of the whole city. This was all abbreviated. Our only big stops were going up to the top of the Empire State Bldg (my new avatar) and taking the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. The - s most memorable moment cost us $1 each. There was a man in the park who had trained the squirrels to eat from peoples' hands. Each of the - s got to do it and have the pictures to prove it.

Wednesday, we headed to Philadelphia. We had planned to do a walking tour but ended up paying for a guided horse/buggy tour. It was worth it.

Thursday, we went to Ocean City, NJ and spent the day. It was like an Atlantic City for families. Had the ferris wheel, putt-putt, beaches, etc. It was a nice break from the tours.

Friday, on our way home, we stopped at (debatedly), the U.S. largest mall called King of Prussia. Due to the amusement park, The Mall of America in Minneapolis has more square feet and also more stores, but King of Prussia's Mall has the largest RENTABLE squary footage (per the internet). I think they had at least 10 anchor stores. The best part is that there was NO sales tax. It wasn't a special holiday. It's ALWAYS 0%!!

We made it to Richmond, VA, then stopped for the night.

We got home Saturday afternoon.

We were able to mark off OH, MI, NY, PA, NJ, DE, MD, WV, and VA. We are now down 31 states, 19 to go!!

Sounds like you had a really great trip T-Gal !  The Falls are spectacular, and you're right, the "Lady of the Mist" is the best.

Glad you had such a nice time with your family. smile

Oh LS- I didn't realize you could have met me in NYC. I think of CT as being another state, but up, there, they're all pretty close aren't they. That would have been so cool to finally put a face to the legend.

PS: Did a recount of our state. We're actually 33 down, 17 to go.

Well, I accomplished my purpose of the trip. They saw one of God's greatest wonders at Niagara Falls and Man's greatest accomplishments in NYC. I just wanted my K(ids) to experience the magnitude of both places.

I could go back 100 times to NYC and do something different each time and love each visit and exploration. I might even pack up and try it for a year in the City once the K(ids) go off to college. I no longer have anyone holding me back.

And JR- If you're embarrassed now, wait til I dress you up in your Christmas outfit!! I'm going to parade you all over the streets of Nashville and get your pix at the most popular sites.

Yes, I'm about 1 1/2 hours from NYC. And I work about 1 hour from NYC.
I actually work in NY state.

You've never shown yourself to us either, have you? I'm trying to remember... I don't think we've ever seen you, have we?
