Yeah, it feels like an extra knife in the back to buy or rent the modem. We don't have Roadrunner available here. Our cable company does offer Internet, but it is about twice as expensive for half the speed as the DSL service.
One good thing I will say about Qwest DSL is that unlike the cable provider, the price is set for all Qwest customers. Out here in the rural areas, we pay the same price as in the metro areas.
Earlier post of Web's mentioned today being his son's first day at school. My two started July 31. We're on a balanced calendar, so they'll get a two week fall break the first of October. I think it is a good trade off.
