Well I came home to a less than ideal situation and I have left my home and I am staying at a hotel for at least a week. Right now all I can handle is one day at a time. At church today- which he showed up to- the preacher said that sometimes when you choose to follow Jesus is causes you to make decisions that cause divisions. He hit the nail on the head with that one! I have decided not to enable my husband to do this. I have kept the bills paid and the house clean and those days are over.
 
I'm home now washing some clothes and cleaning the house. My son is going to stay here- school starts Tuesday. The hubby is at a friends while I get some more stuff together. I plan on going to work tomorrow- we have registration and obviously I am a week behind. I have not made any big decisions yet. Just one- this addiction is bigger than me and I have got to leave and then we will see. Worst case scenario- sell the house and divorce- best case- he gets some REAL help.

Anyway I will drop by in the morning to update you all. Please pray for mecry

This is horrible news Ruby.

I'll be praying for you, and I hope God gives you the strength to stick to your guns this time and stay away.  I'm not a big believer that people can just change who they are.  Your husband has had this problem for some time and it just doesn't seem to me that it's going to get better until he absolutely hits rock bottom.

Take care of yourself and your kids first.  Worry about him last.

PS: I saw a picture of you that on the forum from like a year ago that I think Thump resurrected. It' was just like looking at a grown up Little E!! You are a beautiful, strong, very capable woman. Those attributes, along with your faith, give me the confidence to know that you are going to be OK.

tought way to come back home, but in the long run things will work out to make YOUR life better!  I was once told that it is impossible to change some else, they've gotta want to do it themselves....so maybe being apart and away is what you both need!  Always thinking of ya....

Well the hubby has admitted he has a problem and has an appointment with a substance abuse counselor on Tuesday. He told me the man is available if he feels the need to talk before hand. It is a start. We have a marriage counseling appointment in two weeks too, I am praying I can hold out.

It's a start Ruby!!  Hopefully he'll realize this isn't a one-time shot, that it's something he's going to have to stick with and continue doing for quite some time.  Kicking a drug addition takes a certain mind-set, a lot of inner strength, and a huge change in many behaviors........everything from the way you look at things right on through to the people and places you hang around with/at. He has to be able to say no and walk away if he finds himself confronted with it.  There is no such thing as being able to be around it without doing it when you're trying to quit.  I know because I was there at one time.  I will pray for him that he's able to find the strength it's going to take to really do it this time.
I also hope he really hears you and what you're saying when you go to the marriage counselor.  Maybe he/she can help get your points across to your husband in a way he'll understand. 

I'll be thinking of you and praying that this time things start to get better Ruby!!  I'll be in touch with you even if it's through pm's here!!  Lean on me when you need to girlfriend!!!  smile
