Good morning.

I'm eating a bowl of cereal and getting ready to head off to the big kite fly weekend. The kites are loaded into the van and I just need to finish getting smaller stuff lined up and I'll be outta here.

I hope you all have a good day . . . As long as my servers and customers behave, I plan to have a lotta fun.

Good day all. My mom called me at 8:15 this morning. She should know better than that. I'll call her back in a minute. Then I have to start on our chores of the day, including taking in recycling, doing laundry, cashing in our change, and doing just a little bit of grocery shopping. I can't do all the grocery shopping, because our refrigerator isn't working right, and they won't look at it until Tuesday. So we'll be doing a lot of eating out and living out of a cooler this weekend. Luckily, we were going to do that tomorrow and Monday while being in Indy anyway, but I need to buy stuff to put in said cooler.

Morning all. Already took the family van to get an oil change and tail light fixed and now I am cleaning.

Just got back from the gym....a 55 minute spinning class...tired...now to the yard to trim a tree or two...then wait for delivery of the fridge....then relax! Have a great day!

Back home from kite fly day one.

We had TOO much wind today. It was around 20mph most of the time. There were quite a few big kites up but not much stunt kite flying in that wind. Lots of chasing after kites with broken lines, etc.

I put my camera up on the kite to take pictures. As I was pulling it back down, I got tangled with another small kite that got a wrap around my line. No big deal, just pull them down together, unwrap them and go back up. Then, as I was pulling them down, the other kite's line broke back at the ground stake. Because his line had a wrap on mine, as his kite was now free to fly away, his line was basically sawing its way through mine. I was trying to get to the camera before the line cut, but I didn't make it. The camera was about 10 feet from the ground when he got through my line. The camera is ok, but my rig got pretty bent up. Then to top it off, I must have not had something just right because I got NO PICTURES. I will try to get the rig fixed tonight so it is workable for tomorrow.

It wasn't a total loss, I still had a good time with my friends that did go. Maybe tomorrow will be a better flying day.

if Mrs web tells you to "go fly a kite", do you listen to her? smile

also, is the boy still too young to do more than just visit for awhile? it seems like that will be a fun hobby to share with him.

He likes it, but his attention span is too short for him to go with me all day. After about 30 minutes, he's whining and wanting to do something else. Mrs Web is planning on bringing him over tomorrow afternoon separately so they don't have to stay all day.
