I don't have a problem with cover versions if you have something NEW to add to it.
Heck, I don't mind covers that are faithful to the original if it's kind of an "homage" to the original. But you don't do THAT type of a cover until 40 years after a song is originally released.
This song sounds just like the Lauper version but sped up and louder. They add NOTHING of interest to it.

Unless there's blatant swearing in the song of course.
I WILL however remove it from the new song rotation pretty soon. (It's time is almost up anyway). Then it should fade into the background.
THEN AGAIN, now that you've stated your distaste for it publicly I imagine whoever keeps playing Night Rangers GOODBYE and REO Speedwagons CAN'T FIGHT THIS FEELING will add Quiet Drive to their daily request list
