I just played one of my guilty pleasures (THE BAD TOUCH), thought we may want to resurrect this thread for the newer folks who maybe didn't see it.

As far as movies I'd go w/ - "Can't Buy Me Love" w/ Patrick Dempsey from the 80's.
And for music - teeny boppers - Britney, boybands, etc.

Faith, age, and wisdom have helped me shake off many a bad habit, but I still have to watch myself when it comes to junk food.  I'm a muncher, chips, cheese puffs, peanuts, etc.

Film wise it's Mel Brooks movies.  I'm hooked on his comedy.

I love "Can't Buy Me Love" that movie was great.  I also loved "Secret Admirer" with Tommy Howell in it. "Duran Duran here trashed my van."   Love it!  I still love the teenie bopper movies, no matter what generation they are from.  If "Drive Me Crazy" or "10 Things I Hate About You" is on, I watch it.  The band that did a lot of the music from "10 Things..." was Letters To Cleo and the drummer (Stacy Jones) from that band is the lead singer from American Hi-Fi.

Movie wise - girls just want to have fun/some kind of wonderful or something totally evil like Pet Cemetary, Phantasm, Hellraiser, 13 Ghosts...

Food wise is Ben and Jerry's new york Super Fudge Chunk (vera evil!!!)

Music wise - it would be musical soundtracks..  the old ones....   My fair lady...   Hello Dolly..  CD's when i am driving around and get stuck in traffic, i turn the volume down on...

TV wise it is cartoons...  all cartoons... all the time.. spongbob, aqua teen hunger force, the grim adventures of Billy and Mandy... the oblongs!, the simpsons..   i get into some anime.. but not considered a guilty pleasure...

back when I worked 12 hr nights 3rd shift, it was the Teletubbies. They were like the perfect viewing for a melting brain drinking a few brews at 8 in the morning. The film clips were interesting enough- para-sailing, a gum factory,an organ maker etc... and they always played them twice, back-to back. Then the little tubby things would get together and do a little dance- it was all very easy on a beyond exhausted brain.

I just remembered one of my guilty pleasures.  The soundtrack from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure!  The summer that came out, my friend, Kelly, and I were camping out in Heber Springs, Arkansas, which is my all time favorite place to camp.  (Despite the fact that I fell off a 35 ft cliff there and landed in the lake.)  ANYWAY, we listened to that soundtrack nonstop.  My favorite song was "Two heads are better than one".  Big Pig had a song on there and Jeremy played it one day and I just sat back and remembered the fun times listening to that song as we tooled around the lake.  We even met Marines there (God love the Marines ).  I believe that was the summer of 89 or 90.  Good times.  I perfected the art of one hand waterskiing that summer (you don't even want to know why).

RE: What is your "guilty pleasure"?

hey this was a fun thread I thought I'd revive. Here is another guilty pleasure! I try to work out and stay fit, eat right etc. I bought TOO MANY CASUAL DRESS/WORK CLOTHES that are still in great shape for me to waste them by moving up another waste size. So there's my motivation.

BUT every once in awhile, often-times after working out or just out of the blue- I get an UNDENAIBLE craving for my favorite sundae of 20 yrs- Gillie's FUDGE MELLOW MINT!! This sucker has 3 scoops of vanilla custard, mint-marshmellow, hot-fudge, chocolate sprinkles, and I get mine with pecans on top. I just got one tonight, and I am in a SUNDAE COMA OF BLISS!!!

JD, I feel for you.  I've been doing really good on my diet and have lost 15 pounds so far, but sometimes a cherry sundae with chocolate ice cream from DQ just calls to me...

I used to work at an Italian ice cream parlor in the Chicago area called Al Gelato and we served all European style ice cream.  Can I get a witness, Ultimo!  The stuff was so rich that we threw leftovers in the trash, putting them down the drain would clog them!  No toppings, didn't need them, just fresh whipped cream.  Over 50 flavors, but only 12 out at a time.  GOSH DARN!  We were required to try each of the flavors out so we could tell the customers what they were getting, and we could scoop some for ourselves whenever we wanted.

Oh, man.  Now I'm hungry.  Food is a real weakness for me.  So what do I do?  I marry an executive chef!  (Best thing I ever did!)

I just discovered Gelato at a fancy place in my favorate part of NW Portland.  You guys' i lost TWENTY pounds since i quit drinking.  no effort.  if i don't eat things like gelatto, i may faint!!  that stuff is the meaning of rich and creamy.  but it's so fancy that it's $2.50 for the littlest scoop.  but really, you couldn't eat more than that.  that's funny about not putting it down the drain!  probably not so good for my drain pipes huh?

The high quality stuff should NEVER go down the drain, or need to!  There should be none left.  Enjoy it all and follow it with an espresso or cappuchino.

That's LIVIN'!  And a shout-out to Pacific Northwest cuisine, Jenny!  I was out there a few years ago and had smoked salmon on sour dough with feta cheese, sun dried tomato and mixed fresh greens.  I was comatose with glee!  Y'all got some good eats, and great coffee!

DANG IT!  I'm HUNGRY!

Ya, my guilty pleasure is definatly shopping at useles fancy food stores for gourmet stuff.  we have a lot of them here.  the additude is so elitist and snobby.  it's rediculous.  but i just ignore it.  You wouldn't believe how liberal and (well i don't want to get political)....  but the thing is, i don't want to be in that group, so it is a secret guilty pleasure.....

Winegums and Fruit Pastilles.  Or a pepermint crisp crushed over natural vanilla ice cream.  (My wife is of British decent and so English candy is prominent in our home)
