SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 16, 2007

Good morning and Happy Sunday to one and all.

My little corner of the UK has been starting to feel a little Autumnal just recently.

However we are a pleasant 62 degrees today  but with a stiff sea breeze making it feel a little cooler...but no rain, so that is good.

Good day all! Sami slept under the covers with me all night. Even when I got up to use the bathroom, when I came back to bed, she came back and snuggled under the covers again. It made for some good sleep.

I'm not sure what we're up to today. Whenever Brian gets up, I'll make breakfast. Bacon and eggs (of course, the eggs are just for Brian), and pancakes topped with peaches and honey and fresh whipped cream. Someone on Twitter mentioned they were going hiking in Brown County, and that seems like a good idea. I just wonder how many other people are thinking the same thing. But we could take out little wooden planes and fly them around a bit. Or, I've been wanting to see Stardust. Or of course I could stay home and watch the game on the computer. I'll have to see what Brian wants to do, he might be planning to go over to a friend's house to watch the game.

Good morning everyone, day two of working at the In-laws house, we stained the fence yesterday and caulked and sealed the peak of their house. Today we are staining the decks, peak, and another coat on the fence. It will be nice getting back to work tomorrow......

Enjoy your day!

Morning all.....it was pretty cool here this morning too, was only 43 when I woke up, but by Tuesday it's supposed to be back up in the 80's for a few days.

Yesterday I went down to Novi with my daughter's band for their competition.  They took 2nd place and also won a Spirit Medal for showing the most enthusiam during their performance.  smile  It was an all-day competition; we didn't get home until 12:45 a.m.  Heard and saw a lot of great performances by different high school bands from all over MI.

Today I plan to take it easy because I'm still not feeling well.....but the Zicam and Airborne are helping.  Thanks for the heads up on that G-gal!

Afternoon all. Yesterday was great until the wedding reception. The hubby was clean, but every girl at our table looked like this- I am NOT kidding:

71764654.jpg?v=1&c=ViewImages&k=2&d=17A4AD9FDB9CF193CC300C081D9F4700E789B300CA8FDA5E559146822F4E6727F06BF04B24B4128C

Only their breasts were bigger. Four girls- all looked the same- either no bra or push up to the moon bras. Well it was an open bar and after two hours of drinking and women flirting with my husband I told him I was leaving. That is not my crowd. He told me this morning he told one of the girls that I was uncomfortable because I was not well endowed! Needless to say he is alive, but barely breathing!cry He did go to church with me even though last night he said he would not. I might be being crazy, but I was upset.

Cleaning out my room and drawers today, we got another armoire out of Emily's room and I am gonna go fill it.

705 Miles driving. My trip to Cedar Rapids was fun-ish. QuadState Olds show. Saturday was a quick trip in to Iowa City. The campus was buzzing.
Some flaffels and a cruise around town. Hit an estate sale. Oh, my goal was to go to an old salvage yard. Classic... I got to where the yard was supposed to be, it's becoming a strip mall. The property across the way is being developed as townhouses!!
My culture is being destroyed!
Maybe I can get U2 or Bruce Springsteen, maybe Willie Nelson to perform on behalf of the Junk Yard owners. They can't afford the land so, they sell it. History is lost each time we close one down. It's time to take action!!!

Enough.

Good evening.

Mrs Web put a pan of lasagna in the oven then we went for a drive while it was cooking. We came home and stuffed ourselves . . . it was yummy.

Now I gotta work on getting today's sermon put on the church website for those who missed it.

That shouldn't take me too long. Maybe I can tune in by 9:00 or so.

As I sat at the banquet last nite, I thought about stuff like that. I didn't have our car along ($$Gas$$) So, I was watching everyone else go up for awards. During the day I was allowed to observe the owners and their cars. Like wine snobs. As I watched I noticed that the same people always win. Our car isn't finished. I plan to have the work done this winter. Will I be a snob?
I've got two different paths to follow at this point, maybe three...
1. don't fix it up, keep it running good and have fun (saves $$, still have the car)
2. fix it up, enter judging (potential snob)
3. fix it up, don't enter judging (best off)

Thanks to all of you that have helped me through yet another crisis.blankstare.gif

Yeah, we're still learning where everything is. smile.gif

Right now, we're fussing over the driver's seat positioning. Since Mrs Web is only 5'-4", she loves the feature that the entire seat can be raised and lowered. She can get it up there where she's nice and tall and can see really well. That makes it too high for me so I have to lower it back down as well as move it back when I get in it. I'm sure after a while, we will get it figured out what exactly we need to do to get it back where we want it with each driver change.

If that's the biggest problem we have, I guess we'll be doing ok. smile.gif

Oh, yeah . . . I have to add . . . .

Mrs Web loves the new car, but has a little issue with the "Buick" part. We both tend to associate "Buick" with "Grandpa's Car".

Since her mom has been in the nursing home, Mrs Web has been taking care of all her business, bill paying, etc. We now have all her mail coming directly to our house.

Yesterday, I had to tease Mrs Web . . . in the mail was her mom's AARP magazine. It had a picture on Tony Bennett on the front. I then looked at the back and started laughing. I brought the magazine in and said "Look at this . . . Nothing goes better with the AARP and Tony Bennett than (I flipped the magazine over to the ad on the back) the Buick LaCrosse!"

That was a little tough for her to take.

Those kind of seats combined with telescoping steering column really let you adjust things for the ultimate comfort in driving.  Very helpful when there's more than one driver to a vehicle.

Before my daughter had her own car, she was always moving the seat in my car forward so she could reach the brake/gas pedals.......but she always forgot to move the seat back when she was done driving, and I couldn't get in my car without first moving the seat back. hmm

That's one thing I love about taking my car to the auto shop or the full service car wash. I'm 5' 2", and the only reason my seat isn't all the way up is because I'd be too close to the airbag. (I had a car that had a driver's seat that wouldn't go all the way up, so I'm used to pushing the pedals with my toe.) I almost always get a really tall guy, and he about kills himself getting into my car.

Web, some cars let you program the seat for 2 drivers. Maybe your car will do that.

We got the base model with a few select options. The next model up will do that, but it also comes with leather seats and we really didn't want leather, so ours doesn't have that feature. The dealer said that one will sense which key FOB is operating the car and it and auto adjust everything back to the way you last had it set . . . which would be cool, but that wasn't available on the base model.
