I finally got to start one of these again! clap.gif

Happy Sunday to you all! smilesmile

Sorry I've been away so long...but you know me!  I've been out enjoying life and also hooning around on my shiny red & chrome quad bike and boy have I been hooning!  biggrin  After a few minor falls I've mastered the joys of it and am now giving rides to people around here!  It's a two person quad!  Can't believe I only paid $2.00 for the raffle ticket...bought the last one too!

But apart from enjoying life I've had a rough trot the last week!  I just spent 5 days in hospital with a nasty virus!  It just about paralysed me from the neck down.  I had very very limited movement.  They still have not detected what actual virus it is...the medical system here is shocking!  They have to send my results down south for further advice on what happened to me!  But I seem to be getting over it with no side effects.  I'm smiling again and LOL...just went for my first ride again this afternoon!  smile

Oh and I have moved into some luxury for two whole weeks here!  I am housesitting a house with a pool right now while my friends are away on school holidays with their kids...lol...a holiday on a boat with 4 kids for two weeks...hmm  So I finally have lotsa room to move again, a nice big pool, broadband internet...WITH SOUND...clap.gif and cable tv...not the 2 channels we usually get...YAY!!!  So get used to having me around lots for the next 2 weeks...well apart from the times I have to work!

Anyway I just wanted to stop in and say hi!  Right now I am so excited I've got to go rev up my engine again and go for a spin down the beach!  There's this cool quad track around the corner from me...LOL I am staying on the equivalent of Millionaire's row...well Weipa style anyway!  Everything still kinda primitive!  But it has a wonderful view of the ocean!  All I need now is Wally to come around here and I'd be set!  But I can't exactly leash up Wally and walk him over here!  biggrin

Well I may be up when you guys are waking up so hopefully I'll get to say hello to you 'live' again!  Yay...it's so good to be back again!  smilesmilesmilesmilesmile

Hmmm...looks like I'll be on two channels for a while until I figure out how to work the cable tv!  hmm  These people have 4 friggen remote controls and I can't seem to get anything to work!  Is this what happens when you get taken away from luxury for so long that you can't figure out how to use what you had previously!

Oh well...good excuse to just leave the tv off...forget it's there and just go quad biking again!  biggrin

LOL Ruby I do always seem to get a mix of both good and bad!  But I'm still alive n kickin!

I will definitely be around alot more for the next couple of weeks!  Look forward to catching up!

My Sunday has been great apart from an early start at 6am at work!  Finished at 12pm and headed straight out for a ride then moved into this house!  I been swimming, playing with the two dogs here that I'm also looking after and rocking out to tunes on Freeze Frame for the first time in months aww!  About to go for another swim!  LOL I just realised it is 9.12pm here Sunday night!  Monday tomorrow...clap.gif  My weekend just started!  2 more days of bliss!

Happy Sunday anyway!  smile

try switching the cable machine off at the electricity for a few seconds and then switching it back on again...

Lol we just bought a new TV and Mark tries to connect all sorts to it - the cable box, the video, the DVD....every now and then a little light goes on in his head and he starts messin with the scart leadsfor the umpteenth time

we have a remote for each thing so yeah 4 lol...and there's one for the old stereo too ...nightmare!!!

If I struggle to set up something to tape I have to call him at work lol... biggrin

Hey thanks Pip!  Gonna go give that a try!  I just switched the tv back on and I've got a choice of watching "The Sound of Music" or Government Question Time!  hmm

Oh and SG...I shall be running like Forrest Gump if I can't get it to work by the time they get back!  LOL!

Great to hear from you Jules! For some reason, I thought you were moving?

Well, today we've got to do all the housework we slacked off yesterday. We did end up going to the roller derby last night. It was so much fun! I want to be a roller girl! Unfortunately, the next bout is the same day as Casey's wedding, so we can't go.

Back again!  smile  Monday morning here now!  Cable TV still broken!  evileye  I gotta somehow fix it!  I had to endure watching the Sound of Music all over again last night!


Anyway I needs me much coffee right now!  My morning greeting when I opened the door this morning was two big dogs jumping on me!  Man they are huge!  When they are on their hind legs jumping up on me they are actually taller than me!  They knocked me to the ground!  Way too early for that!  Next time I wear a crash helmet when I open the door!


Well it's time for a swim!  I'll check back again later!  Hope you all enjoying your Sunday!

Is Summer over there yet?  It's Spring here now and too darn hot!  I am not looking forward to Summer at all!  But I will be in Brisbane by then so it won't be stifling hot like up here in Weipa but still it will be uncomfortable enough!

I know we have a world-wide listenining audience, but it still kinda blows my mind that you're hearing us all the way Down Under, getting that immediate feedback from you!

its officially the first day of autum up here, still sunny and comfortably warm up here. Dark out early tho! it looks like midnight out there and its only 7:30 pm! a bit nippy at night. I bet in 3 weeks the leaves will be in full color and be really beautiful!

If I can recall the last time I could tune in was the weekend before Easter!  Man it has been too long!  So good to be able to hear sound again!  aww

It is really hot and dry here at the moment!  Spring is here...dry season is almost over!  The big wet is due to arrive in the next 1 and half months time or so!  Big storms, lotsa rain and much isolation again!  I'll be outta here by then I hope!  :)  I recall what I went through last wet season and it wasn't fun!  Interesting experience but not very enjoyable!  If I had fun company I'd stay but most of the town will evacuate for it!

I had to fly out lst time to get supplies and got stranded for almost a month trying to get back!  LOL remember my addiction to luxury hotel suites for a while in that time!  biggrin

Yeah...I am heading back to Brisbane!  I leave in the beginning of December!  Now that it's coming up I'm starting to dread leaving!  There is so much I love about this town now!  smile

Is the weather a bit more agreeable in Brisbane? I mean, I know with the flooding and crocs in the rivers in the streets and stuff of course won't happen (will they?confused), & the invasions of cane-toads etc...but are the temps more agreeable there as well?smile

There are not as many cane toads in Brisbane, no flooding rains but the temps are more agreeable!  Hot and uncomfortable but not as unbearable as up here!  And I won't have to row down the street in flood waters with crocs in the them to get to the shops!  And I won't have to deal with cycones as well!

I'm only going back to Brisbane until I figure out where I want to go next.  Just easier and cheaper to plan from Brisbane than from Weipa.  I love Brisbane but my spirit of adventure will not keep me there for very long!  I long to discover a new place again!  The thrill of the unknown is very satisfying! smile

I'm not sure I want to go South again!  I love my crocs too much now!  I'm really thinking Darwin (bit too touristy for me now) or the top of Western Australia in Broome or something.  I may even stay in Northern Queensland and move East across the cape to Cooktown.  A little more civilisation but still distant enough.

But I never say never!  The snow could be interesting.  I may even go to Tasmania.  Tasmania sounds more appealing to me than mainland Australia.  smile
