I have been a very busy stalker ashamed.gif - er - Artist Relations person this past week.
Got a slew of new station IDs coming soon!

1. Well, here's the thing: I got Grammy Award winner & yummy man, Jeff Hanna from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, thinking we had some of their stuff. (Maybe we could add "Mr. Bojangles" ? It was a Top 10 pop chart hit when we were kids...)

2. My goddess: Matraca Berg

3. Jesse Malin

4. Carolyn Dawn Johnson (which Riggs has already played)

5. Joe Lynn Turner

6. & 7. Then there are 2 country songwriters: Gretchen Peters & Sarah Buxton.
Gretchen wrote "Independence Day" & a lot of other huge country songs. She also has solo albums of her own out. She's very talented. I figured, I'm here - she's here - the recorder's here... Maybe one day she'll have a solo hit, and then we'd have a nice station ID in the can until that possible time. Sarah Buxton is the same way. She is young, and "new", although she's had some success as a writer for Keith Urban, etc. Her album is coming out soon, and I thought - How much would I be kicking myself if she became hugely popular, and I didn't get a station ID when I was hanging out with her? So I got one. Another possible "in the can" situation. smile.gif And I'm smiling, because her particular station ID was actually recorded in "the can" laughing.gif Good echo in there!!

Busy little weekend. In addition to the concerts I got station IDs at -- We were at WFMU (a big record convention in NYC) this weekend, and my husband goes, "Isn't that the guy from B-52's?" It was. He was shopping away. Never know who you're gonna run into in NYC, right? Rule # 1 is still: Always have your camera with you. Rule # 2 is now: Always have your little voice recorder with you. smile.gif So yes, got Fred Schneider yesterday. Yay!

once I was at a b-52s show and before coming out onstage, he stuck his head out from behind the curtain to see the size of the crowd. he looked positively as pleased as punch!smile.gif

He wasn't clothes shopping, he was record shopping! Saw him buy The Beatles among other things. Although he had a really nice purple shirt on - pretty color. And made him stand out.

This reminds me, I'm going to try to do station ID for our local radio station. Once a year they play every song in their database from A-Z. It's pretty cool and fun to hear. I'm on the station's email list, and they sent out an email looking for people to record IDs for letters. So I'm going to do one as MzHartz for the letter Z. Who knows, maybe someone will be intrigued and google me and end up here.

Sounds like fun. It was the best when MTV2 played every video in their database from A-Z.
